Andy, it's good to hear that you still have your Hacker Bros 95R. I own the Zabinski Racing 95R #77 and recently acquired the Gemini Racing Frank Simone 95R #66. Check out my YouTube channel CobraR77 for many IMSA races. We also have a 1995 Cobra R group on Facebook.
Yes. I plan on going back to the original as raced livery. I have contact info for the original decal shop. Hopefully I'll get lucky and they will still have the original files.

Recently I had the privilege of acquiring 1995 Cobra R #66/250. This chassis was raced in SCCA/IMSA in 1995/96 by Frank Simone with support by Gemini Racing Systems. It has been in storage since. 95R #66 was documented in a couple magazine and newspaper articles. I first became aware of this...
Here is another small piece to the story. At some point around 2000 I came across a for sale ad for 95R #139. I wrote down the info on a sticky note and then in January of 2004 I called the number I had written down. It was an interesting conversation. Below is the message I sent Tom about it a...
As best I can tell it ran three races for Starworks. I'm trying to determine how many races for FastCo. I know they had some podiums, even some first place finishes but I'm not sure if it was in my chassis.
Here are a couple pics of Starworks liveries in 2013 configuration. Still trying to...
Tom, the Starworks Boss 302R program was not very successful in Grand Am.
This video pretty much sums it up:
I also prefer the 302R setup but wasn't sure about backdating the livery. Not sure what is customary or "acceptable" with old racecars.
Thanks for all the inputs.
Not a Cobra R but it's still an R. Hope everyone doesn't mind...
I recently acquired the wrecked and stripped BOSS302R 015 tub. It needs some straightening, radiator core support, quarter panel and just about all the bits and pieces that make up a Boss 302R.
I'm trying to decide what race...
Wow!!! Those pics are awesome. I'd love to see everyone you have but if that is too much to ask. I own the #26 and the #57. Thanks...
Good luck acquiring the #21...
Twenty years and just 523 miles after leaving the showroom, this 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R finally reaches the racetrack.

I’ve been rummaging through a few bins of old racing brake parts given to me by a Grand Am team I crewed for a few years ago. Among dozens and dozens of used (who knows what) brake pads I came across one new box of Hawk Gold HT-9 .610 pads and several boxes of Raybestos Racing Pads p/n 33D412A...
While working on the fuel cell on my 1995 R I noticed that the fuelpump is a different design than the standard 1995 Cobra/GT. It appears that among other things (Air Cleaner, Alternator, etc) the fuelpump for the 1995 R was pulled from the 1996 Cobra parts bin. The 1995 Cobra/GT used a center...
I have registered to run 1995 Cobra R #77 in the Texas Mile in March. I hate to drop that kind of money on an event where I won’t get much track time and only go in a straight line (hopefully) but it’s too close to home to not try it at least once. I’m going to be WAY underpowered compared to a...
Does anyone know of a Stainless Steel catback system that clears the fuel cell on the 1995 Cobra R? I had a Bassani catback on my R but it interferes with the fuel cell on the passenger front corner and drivers side. I ended up switching to dumps but that was boiling my fuel so I need to switch...
Those of you familiar with the ex-IMSA Cobra R’s have undoubtedly seen video of the multi car wreck at the 1996 IMSA race at Road Atlanta. That crash ended the pro racing career of the original Snipes Motorsports Cobra R. I just came across the below incar video posted by Paul Dudinsky on...
I finally have my ex-IMSA 1995 Cobra R back on the road. I still need to address a couple things to have it track ready so in the mean time I’ve been hitting the local cruise/cars and coffee type gatherings with it. It is becoming very evident that the 1995 R’s are being forgotten. Maybe it’s...
As I’m buttoning things up on my engine install I want to verify the wire harness and hose routing/orientation since the motor has been in and out so many times. Do any of you guys have engine pics showing the routing of these items? Pics from the underside and engine stand pics would be most...
