So this afternoon my wife and I went to pick up some pizza. There is a line of maybe a dozen charging stations in the parking lot. I noticed a line of cars in the parking lot and lo and behold, they were all EVs. EVs needing a charge and all the chargers were in use. My first thought was that here is a line of EVs waiting for a charge and we're not even experiencing a majority of EVs on the road. The majority are still ICE. I saw it as a snapshot of the future of EV ownership. I don't see any way the grid and number of charging stations will expand to the point where people won't have to struggle with charging on the road. I cannot imagine having to wait in a long line just to connect a charger, and then having to wait another 30+ minutes charging.

You wonder how many guys wait an hour or 2 to charge and dump it.

That’s because they plan isn’t to replace everyone’s iCE car with an EV. It’s to replace your ICE car with rideshare, public transportations, a bike, your feet etc. It’s pretty obvious at this point.

None of the idiots who are planning that have ever lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. Just to get from one side of a suburb, Plano for example, to the other is at least 30 minutes driving. That's ONE suburb, and we have dozens of those. To go from the Eastern suburbs of Dallas to the Western suburbs of Ft. Worth is at least 1.5 hours in a car on the highway averaging 60ish mph. My commute to the office is almost an hour each way... Luckily for me I think I'll be dead before their dream comes true, our kids are screwed though.

So posted on youtube back in 2023, Vaughn Gittin Jr. starts spewing his total lack of electrical knowledge immediately after he claims to "know it." Starts at ~10:20.

Vaughn Gittin Jr.:
"With electrification, I know the technology, so I know what's possible with it...

...So this thing (an E Lightning) has pro power on board, so in the bed, so you can literally power your house."

"There's a huge market for this truck if people live off grid. Because you can literally go to work, charge your vehicle at work, come home, power their house, the entire house because it has so much power."

Simple question to Vaughn: IF this is true, why aren't tens of millions of people who live in off grid/rural areas, buying a lightning, and powering their house?

Picture from a video about the slight damage done to battery pack case on an EV resulting in car being totaled (UK). Insurance said there was no way to verify the state of the cells on the other side of the scrape. Crazy. It makes you wonder how many EV fires the MSM is suppressing. Why would insurance companies react so strongly to such little damage, if fires weren't happening? I suppose the insurance companies just plug in the cost of a battery replacement and boom, totaled. None of the OEM's appear interested in pulling a battery, peeling it apart for testing and replacement of individual damaged cells. They figure that is pandora's box for liability.

Gittin has proven himself to be nothing but a tool.

But hey, can we blame him? He was a simple IT dude who now makes min of $500,000/year and is worth at least $2 million.
He's got a car guys dream job.

Jesus, there is nowhere for EV insurance to go but straight up. The house gets filled with hazmat smoke, the cars are treated AS hazmat. I can't imagine the whopper of a bill the fire department and police department gave that homeowner.

My car insurance has nearly doubled in 1 year. No tickets or accidents. They are going to just bleed everyone else a little more, to help these EV ****s of course.
I think they count on most people not really paying much attention or having the ambition to shop around. (The same can be said for many goods and services.) A few years back, I got a random notice from Am Fam telling me they were increasing the premium on my RS by $33/month. The reason they gave? Not really any, but this is how their fluffy word gymnastics read in my mind: "Sometimes it is necessary to re-evaluate billing structures and make adjustments to be sure each customer is doing their part to keep our pockets lined." There's a cyclone in the Pacific so I need to pay more. EVs are burning houses down so I need to pay more. Everyone else's problems are costing them money so it's our responsibility to keep their coffers charged up.

"Hertz even limited the torque and speed on the EVs and offered it to experienced users on the platform to make them easier to adapt after certain users had front-end collisions, he said."

Just a matter of time. Most drivers can barely handle a 0-60 in the 6 second range.
