Siddharth Kara was recently on the JRE show (Episode 1914) speaking about the cobalt mines in the Congo.
Pretty damn eye opening for anyone who actually looks into what this EV shit is costing people in 3rd world countries.

You’re just against young Africans having jobs.

Racist.

Because the vision is you don't own the car.

How many hours is your car parked doing nothing.
1 car in constant routes will accommodate dozens of owners' needs daily.

Not that I agree. Just that is the idea longer term.

BTW this is the whole point of Uber and lyft.
It's about monitoring traffic flows and transportation requirements data.
Everyone doesn't need an electric car... they need 1/200th for example.

Yeah absolutely F that.

Imagine there no cars available because they are all in use, and your mom just called and said your dad is about to die in the hospital.

I'm sure you'd be paying a subscription fee for it too.

I don’t like sharing anything. People are disgusting and have zero respect for the next person.

Public transport/ride share is far more easy to control than private vehicles. The Europeans got a taste of this during covid restrictions.

There is no good intentions behind removing private vehicle ownership.

Electric motors are pretty awesome. No torque reduction over the million mile life of the motor.

Electrical energy storage (batteries) is decades away from free market viability.

Electrical energy transfer safety and battery tech is pretty dicey to enable really fast MW charging to be equivalent to gasoline refueling time.

I think Porsche's synthgas and potential synthgas blends have real free market potential.

God its all such bullshit. EV's are a smarter choice for the average house wife that needs to run around the city all day. If you need to travel long distances then gas cars are for you.

What is so hard to understand about it.
I still prefer the Focus 1L for commuter. I paid 15k out the door new in 2017. little bastard gets 40mpg. I dont have to submit to the EV cultist bullshit... I dont care if it gets plowed by a dump truck (as long as Me/Family isnt in it.) It wont cost me 20K to replace the battery...

There is not EV comparison that I know of that can match it.
