Emptied my catch can for the first time. Glad I have these. It was half full. Probably around 1,000-1,500 miles since I put these on.

Also drove the piss out of it tonight with my dad in the car. He loves it. I forget how hard it pulls all the way to redline. I’m want a smaller pulley already.

That's quite a bit in the catch can. I haven't put enough miles on mine to check it. Maybe in early July. I'm not expecting to find anywhere near that amount, but we'll see.

Just did this as well. Does your fuel guage work properly? Mine seems to be off by 1/4+ tank.
When I pumped out the tank with the old pumps, I ran it til the pumps started to sound different and stopped. Needle was just outside the red on the gauge. I’d say less than 1/8 of a tank. I’d never run it that low while driving. After seeing how little fuel was still in the tank, I wouldn’t go below 1/4 tank safely.

Yeah mine is way off. I’m not sure why either. Wonder if my float is catching on something. I made sure it wasn’t snagging on anything…glad yours is working!

When I first did my fuel system, I broke the wire off the sending unit. I opened it up and re soldered the connection. The unit itself is pretty simple. Just has a sliding contact inside that reads fuel level based on the float.

I’d remove the hat from the tank. Install the float, make sure it’s not catching on the socks or wires. Remove power to the pumps. (Pull fuse, relay, etc.) manually move the float. Turn the key to run and check the gauge. There is a slight delay but just check it that it is reading. Go full range of motion, full and empty. It should work. Check the float arm is not bent. Some people rip them out if the tank still attached to the hat and bend them. I lift the hat just enough so so can pop the lever out and remove it, then pull the hat the rest of the way out.

When I install my hat, I do the same procedure. I lift the arm and make sure it is outside the tank baffle too before lowering the hat into place. The only other thing to check would be the height of the pumps. I install mine as high as possible in the hat.

You’re the man. I’ll get to it eventually. I go buy the trip mileage now. I see 80 miles and I’m headed to the station lol 11.1 mpgs in this bad boy.

I drove it! I finally found the time to pull it out of winter storage and take it out for a spin. This is the latest I've ever gotten it out of storage but kids and other hobbies have prevented me from getting it out sooner. Good news is, it still puts a smile on my face and turns heads...younger kid (I can say that now at my age lol) in a Jeep yelled "Love the car!" Cheers to the younger generation for the appreciation! Anyways, I haven't posted in a long long time but it's good to see some names I still recognize! I'm on the hunt for some new DR's and stumbled across this thread so thought I'd post.

Drove it to work Friday and then to the bank on lunch. An older woman in her 60’s asked what kind of car it was. I told her. She then asks, is it new? I laughed and said no, it’s an 03’…. It’s 20 years old now. She was amazed. Said nice car and kept going ha ha ha.
