All that for 440rwhp. That is a $3k intake manifold I believe. Not to mention a forged shortblock, ported heads blah blah.

dyno pull doesn't even begin to make some noise until 5,000rpm. This motor would likely lose to a much lower powered vehicle that actually has bottom and midrange power.

03-04 Cobra’s were bad ass back in their day and they still are. 20 years from now they will still be bad ass and known as Terminators...mustangs with the coyote motor will just be mustang GT’s. There is a nostalgia with the Terminator and a following, is there better cars out there( creature comforts and reliability) of course but not many sound or look as good. I will say it......they are the 67 fastback of my generation

I drove one a few weekends ago. Definitely nicer than the Cobra. Lots of room for a tall guy....more than a Cobra. Shifter is easier to get to....easier than the Cobra.

I may have a Modular and a Coyote before the end of summer.

Warranty is a mute question at this point. No. I don’t care about it as Hellcats are rock solid and if it breaks it breaks. Only takes 4-5 mods to get there anyway.

Cobras don’t have a warranty nor do most of the cars being compared so I don’t see how that plays into the equation.

On a site dedicated to SVT it will always be special. To most others, it had its time and we moved on. I definitely like the car, it just has too many shortcomings for me to want or buy another. I had my last one 6yrs ago. 672rwhp on E85. Have never missed it other than the power which can easily made on multiple platforms.

As for value, I’m not dumb enough to buy any car new nowadays. I bought my Hellcat used for several K below book. Depreciation already hit it so I’ll always be ahead. And there are probably 10 Challenger Hellcats for every Charger. Only 255 made in Plum Crazy so I doubt I’ll ever run into another.

I was just curious weather or not you retained warranty....lol, IDK why you got so defensive. Oh you have a charger hellcat? In honesty I like the charger even less than I like that challenger, but it's the right choice if you want to have more limited numbers/be different for sure.

yeah on SVTP maybe, to the rest of the world the coyote is a much more respected platform. You're already seeing coyotes swapped into much higher end cars around the globe. Porsches and BMWS..etc

To 99% of the world the terminator is indistinguishable from a v6 new edge but on the other hand almost everyone raves and rants about the coyotes.

I have literally never seen a coyote swapped into a porsche or BMW. Also, if that is your argument, LS engines are probably the most used engine for swaps on the planet, does that make their cars superior to anything else? You are blending the coyote engine specifically with the entire car. A coyote comes out of a normal mustang GT, the same car nearly anyone with an income can probably get a loan for, the same car that will just be another mustang within 5-10 years. Is the engine incredible? Absolutely. Is the car special? Not in anyway. This conversation is about the vehicle as a whole, you are comparing a vehicle to an engine.

Sounds like a ****ing beast. But to the termiebro, this car is too tame. LOL

2018 5.0 Making 474rwhp on 93 pump
508rwhp on e85

That is very impressive!

Some of you guys seem to be fanboying pretty hard over the newer mustangs. It's totally fine to say that the engine is superior or the new auto is phenomenal, but don't talk it up to be anything special.

It's a mustang GT....That is all. It will never in anyway be special or collectible. The numbers aren't limited and you see them every single day. Is it a better performance car from the factory? Yes it probably is. That's where the conversation should end lol. The 03-04 Cobra is without a doubt a more special/sought after car, always will be. It was a special limited run vehicle.

I'm completely fine with those of you saying other cars are better, I agree with most of you. But why get into these passionate debates about how a new mustang GT is a special car lol.

The only one mentioning Mustang GT and “special” in the same sentence has been you.

No cares about the GT’s collectibility.

let's just say this

you can't compare a terminator to a coyote . totally apples to oranges.

it's old vs new technology. End of ****ing story. If you think the terminator is "slow" then don't ****ing buy it. ****ing new GT fanboys. Have no pride for older mustangs. Go eat a wiener.

You don't have to use the word "special" to make something sound like it's gods gift to the people ;)

lmao, this thread went from being great to an argument about the coyote ENGINE and the terminator due to a few.

I'd like for it to get back to comparing it to EVERYTHING, this thread isn't titled "Is the 03-04 Terminator better than the Coyote engine.."

Now you have seen a Coyote Porsche swap.
