First and foremost, I commend for how you handled that situation. I agree that you should not be a victim.

I also commend you for not yelling anything after them as they took off such as anything racial or anything.

I think that you did everything correctly the whole way around.

It is our Second Amendment right to bear arms that the gun grabbers want to take away.

Calguns.net is the place to go for all your information regarding guns in CA. As far as a CCW, you won't get one, especially in Oakland, without a real reason. Self-defense is not a reason to them. You would have to show that your life was in danger, as well as that you attempted other things. There are a few counties in CA that will and out CCWs, but your area isn't one of them. If you are seriously interested in firearms at all, then check out calguns.net

Pretty funny...but all of these what-ifs could lead to them killing you if they feel threatened in return when you pull a gun.....but i guess when you die because you pulled your gun I can sit back and say what-if.....

You make absolutely no sense... It's not like they had guns drawn and the OP pulled his weapon. He turned, saw them, none had weapons, he reached for his 'wallet' and pulled a gun. If any of them would have tried to draw, they would have been shot. THINK before you post please.

Anti gun liberals are not capable of this with their heads so far up their ass. Had the OP shot, the "Reverend" (and I put that in emphasized quotes to mock the title as he is a disgrace to that name) would be burning his front door down with the lynch mob because it would be a hate crime against four young, innocent African-American men who were just taking a casual stroll on the interstate getting some exercise at 2AM.

I wish I was born black. Or Hispanic. Or oriental or whatever the PC word is this week. I would have it so easy, being able to do half the work and society letting me get away with murder constantly.

It's close enough...you can have a gun in your car now without a permit, which is what I plan to do!
doesn't help when a shooter comes into your work or the mall does it? Not to mention if you do have a permit keeping a gun concealed is a lot more of a pain in the ass then open carrying.

if you want to try out a few guns Kat make a trip down to SA and i'll take you and Will to the range.

armpit holster. easy to get to in an emergency. annoying at first but you get used to it.

a good idea is to practice drawing from the holster and firing at the range. too many people have concealed carry and practice at the range but don't work on drawing and firing quickly. can save your life in a tough situation.

armpit holster? are you speaking of a shoulder rig or one of the shirts with built in holsters? i assume the shirt but this only allows carry of compact handguns. I agree 200% about drawing practice, especially if you carry IWB and tucked.

My local range/defense class recommends practicing drawing from a shoulder holster much much more than just any other holster. Apparently too many people get nervous during the heat of the moment when drawing their weapon and end up shooting their own arm. Just shows that no amount of training and practice will truly prepare you for the real thing.

true but it does help, but shoulder rigs are somewhat impractical here in TX, since they require a coat and well its Texas and there is only like a month here you need a coat lol. ranges here won't allow shoulder holster rigs to be worn.
