On my calendar. Should be interesting to see just what the changes are between the S550 and S650. We'll have to see how close it is to this 3D rendering. The guy who made it said "(I did) a "3d render of the 2024 Mustang GT in front of my house. I have no info on what the sides look like, so the sides are from the current model. I created this model in Blender and from leaked images of the upcoming Mustang and used an iPhone and Adobe After Effects to put it together. Orange!"

I am not the target market ;I know; but it’s hat front end reminds me of a Taurus Sho.

These new mustangs are heavy enough shoulda just sent it with a AWD and been down n done ;)

My 08' weighed in at 3,300 lbs. What other safety options does a new one have that an 08' didn't? Side curtain air bags? What else? A couple of camera's? How does enhanced electronic controls, IE: stability control, ect add 400 plus lbs to the car?
My 08' had traction control, ABS, leather, air, power seats, air bags and so forth.
Sure, I had a bit lighter wheels from stock on my car, I did the BMR tubular K-member and control arms and a few other small bits, but that only removed maybe 70 lbs from the car.
All in all 3,700 + lbs seems super heavy, but compared to the Dodges they are lightweight.
I already have a tin can with my 89' Fox body and nothing modern is ever going to come close to that bare bones offering.

Larger brakes
Added weight of the irs
Heavier trans
Car is larger overall
Epas
The added sensors for things like lane departure, collision avoidance each add small amounts.
Add in additional chassis stiffening and you gain 400lbs.

You've gotta think, add 1 lb in a 100 places.

My 2018 pp1 in stock form weighes 3750

places.

It would be cool if... (with the ongoing chip and parts shortage)

We had a bare bones gt option.
I know that's a long shot but I can hope.

Shoot... give me crank windows and a fm radio.

I wonder if the Vroom Vroom noises are via a speaker or are real at this point. When I purchased my 13 new my Mom asked why it was so quiet haha yes I was raised right.

So you want ford to completely engineer a crank window system for a car that hasn't had crank windows in over a decade for the 10 people who'd buy it?

They've always sold a bare bones cloth interior base stereo gt. But long gone are the days of no power accessories. The cost to manufacture two door cards, two sets of door guts for the small number of sales is just not financially smart.

Hopefully they give it some lines and character. Wind tunnels should not be where cars are designed smh.

There's also the assumption that manual windows would be lighter, which is not always the case.
