not at my post...
Ford hasn't ruled out a 6-speed in the future.
That would be nice. It is my new favorite muscle car.

I'm not going to knock the new GT500, however with the exception of the DCT what took 5 yrs. for it to be released? It feels old already. The aftermarket did this years ago..

5yrs is the typically life cycle for many cars... yet Ford waits 5 yrs to to release a pre-face lifted s550 mustang??? That based on the preliminary numbers seems like it will be "middle-of-pack"

I think this just put a premium stamp on the 13/14s as the GT500 people will want...The last GT500 muscle car, with SRA, Big(ger) displacement, Manual transmission...

A GT350R's MSRP is $63,000, the GT350 has a MSRP of $56,000. The GT500 will not start in the 90s lol
For reference, the 2014 GT500 had a MSRP of $55,000.

That's cool. I mean, I never said it would START at $90K, but whatever.

Because people that can afford the cars don’t care about such trivial items as a shifter other then putting it in drive and enjoying the car.

Most people bitching about the GT500 shifter saying it would prevent them from purchasing, likely weren’t in the market for one anyway.

Personally I just don’t care for the look of the front end but I’m sure it will grow on me seeing them more in person. Alas it won’t matter because I won’t be purchasing one anytime soon as I need another garage before I drop big coin on any car. I will say I agree with the gripe that if you do a rotary shifter why not place it in a manor which frees up more center console space.
That argument for the rotary is ridiculous. If someone is worried about console space in Halo Mustang, its the wrong car for that person. I can assure you Im not in the market for the car, but the decision to put it in a GT500 is stupid as hell.

Love the car otherwise, looks like what Id picture a 'roided out S550 to look like.

Also, for how many times Ive heard about people bitch about the lack of an Auto option for the GT500's Im kinda lol'ing over the hate for an automated DTC. Ill reserve judgement on the DTC until one of our guys gets one and reviews it. Just as long as it has better syncros in it than my TR6060 haha.

x10 on all points. With the growing number of 6r80 swapped s197 GT500's, this whole "NO MAN PEDAL, NO WAY" nonsense has me chuckling.

I love to row my own like the next guy and think Ford should offer that option, but the level of hysteria is funny.

The price of this GT500 is why I will quietly begin moving my way to a Camaro or Dodge if/when I want a factory monster. Somewhere along the line, post 2014 Ford all of the sudden thought they were a Ferrari manufacturer. I think the Ford GT got to their heads a bit.

This is a bit of an exaggeration. It was at 40k miles and had to get it reflashed (free) every 10k miles.

It varied from car to car but I had regular customers in every 15-20k for a new clutch pack like clockwork. Then one in about every 4 needed a new tcm. I've had cars go as little as 10k or some never even had replacements. And nothing was free after powertrain or warranty extension (only some had the extension) expired.

Regardless I was just making a joke, obviously the gt500 will not have a even remotely similar transmission as a focus

With all the complaints about the rotary shifter, what is the alternative? A flimsy plastic console shifter? Push button? Column? Its all electronic anyways, so why mess with a lever shifter that takes up space and wears out over time?

If history is any indication, MSRP means very little. Back when the '03 Cobra came out, dealers were charging as much as $20,000.00 MVA. I was in the market for a '17 GT 350R. I couldn't find one for less than $10,000.00 over MSRP. Most were more than that. One local dealer was listing them for $115-$120,00.00. Seriously? I didn't get one partly because I couldn't find a dealer that wanted to deal and I really couldn't see spending nearly $70,000.00 for a Mustang.

This one will be no different. It will most likely cost more, which might make people ask themselves....do I really want to spend $XXXXXX on a Mustang.

Without getting into a debate about new vs used, when you're talking about $70-$90,000.00 for a car, there are a lot of other nice options.

I sure miss the days of having a 5L LX option.

If I were in the market right now I’d go wide body hell cat. Plenty of fun for the street even if it’s not the most optimal for road course handling. I still happen to think ascetically it’s top of the bunch but I’m aware looks are subjective.

I was at a Dodge dealership yesterday getting my wife's car an oil change/tire rotation. I kicked around the lot and looked at a couple of Hellcats (Chargers). They were $68K - $70K. That's not cheap, IMO, but at least there is no ADM. All in with tax and title you're between $70K - $75K. That is still a lot of bread!

I can think of some things far more stupid than that. For instance, the fact that it's likely going to cost over 90K when fully optioned, and over 100K with dealer markup.....for a Mustang.
Not sure about the $90k (or whatever it ends up being), but whatever the ADM amounts to isn't stupidity - it's greed, pure and simple.

Rotary switches for controlling any facet of transmission operation is just wrong ergonomically.

How long before MGW or any other aftermarket shifter company comes out with an improved shifter, would that make anyone happy then?
