Its a beauty man. I would not sell that car below $30K up until it hits above 50K miles on the ODO.

Best of luck.

I'd buy your car for 30k waaaay before I'd pay 30K for a similar mileage Terminator. ALL DAY SON!!!

Thanks man! I was afraid with the market that 30k is out of the question but I feel it definitely rates a 30k price tag. Also forgot to add that it has a Mcleod RXT clutch installed by the dealer I bought it from. Nothing about the car indicated it was abused by the prior owner but I know these things had weak clutches from the factory. It has a battery tender, factory Shelby car cover that came with it so I think the first owner was an older dude.

I've noticed GT500's take a hit lately. I think the people that bought them new wanted the biggest and baddest and their performance has been surpassed by Zl this, Hellcat that, etc. Also a lot GT500 owners are asking way too much for their cars.
03/04 Cobras have seen their bottom and have stabilized and clean unmolested ones are pulling some impressive numbers. Also they only made them 2 years and stopped. The GT500 was in production for 8 years with 13/14 being the really special ones imo.
Also for the price of a 07-09 car you can get a very clean low mileage 13/14 GT which you can still get low rates and 60+ month financing, A more modern looking car, nicer interior and similar performance.
I think GT500's still have a way to go on the depreciation scale before they bottom. And if you think GT500's are bad right now take a look at C6's or worse 60's era muscle cars. All except the blue chips have tanked, but no where near as bad as used Harleys

Dont lump the 13/14s in with the 07-12s.... lol

I think the market is so flooded with high performance cars in the 30’s to the $70’s from so many manufacturers and combine that with it only comes in a manual is why they are taking a hit.

13-14’s specifically got overshadowed by the Hellcat and by Dodge’s marketing team.

The only ZL1s you will find for mid 30s are gonna be higher mileage / molested examples.

Handling wise, you are correct, the ZL1 will annihilate the 500s but in straight-line speed, it will not. They can go toe to toe in that arena.

ZL1's like CTSV's require a lot of $$$ to make any power. Swap a pulley, you need $1000 injectors. And a big $$ HE, and a tank as it only comes with a fill neck, etc.... For less than $2500 I can get a 07-12 GT500 to make 650rwhp and in the 10's.

I hear you. I think the you can find great deals here and there but I wouldnt say it is the norm to fing low mile mint ZL1s for under 40.

ZL1s are usually a few K more than 07-12s in same condition.

Id take a low mile mint condition ZL1 over a same condition ss 1le ALL DAY.

I do miss my 5g ss 1le though...

I disagree. 12 GT500 to 12 ZL1, the GT is usually more. PS there is an epic shit ton of low mileage 12-15 ZL1's for under $35k. Not only are they tanks but they have tanked.

Nothing wrong with those previous models GT500 cars. They look great and have some good power.
But if I were to buy a GT500, it would be the '13 or '14. Or until the new one comes out, "whenever" that is. lol

I also agree with the dated look, not a fan of the 05-09 body style. Me personally I would go with a Terminator over the GT500 except the 13-14. There is way to many options in the performance world now so the fan base is spread out over all these bad ass cars we have available. This is a great time to be a performance car fan.

Are you comparing a 2015 car to a 2012 car? LOL

5 year difference, I agree with the other guy, the High end mustangs go for more than the high end camaros. Just look at the z28. Also look at the new ZL1, they already go for sale under MSRP. Not to mention the GT350 is still selling with adm.

Agree with others sticking with the 13/14 GT500 over the older ones.

no reading comp necessary, your post was retarded:

Let me guess, you're going to compare the trinity gt500 to the LT4 ZL1?
LOL, at least the difference is only 3-4 years!

Hey crazy.... the whole conversation was about prices between the 12-15 zl1s and the 07-12 500s. SPECIFICALLY.

Then you jump in here without having a clue as to where we were coming from... lol

The whole point of these cars is to buy them and drive them. I laugh my ass off at all the MOPAR guys that think they bought investments. Never buy a car over sticker (or at sticker) and enjoy it. Don't buy a car you can't afford to take a hit on depreciation. These new cars are GREAT, but they are commodities now and depreciate worse than your average F-150.

I got lucky as hell back in the day and got my Mystichrome under X-plan.

07-09 look like bricks. Transmissions leave something to be desired..

Huh? The 07-09's have the least trans issues of all the S197 Shelbys.

Looks are subjective and everyone has an opinion.

GT500s are slowly fading into obscurity. Lots of the buyers in the market have gone onto hellcats and Z06s, not to mention bolton coyotes running crazy times these days and they can be had for cheap.

this is especially true of iron block GT500s which had less than stellar performance when stock.

Compares hellcats and z06's with 650-700hp to stock iron block GT500s with less than stellar "stock" performance.

LOL

The whole draw to the 07-09 Shelby is the performance/dollar ratio that someone mentioned earlier.

If you do it right, you can build a car that will trap 140 mph for under $35-38k all in including price of car.

In this genre of cars, nothing comes close to that these days other than a 15+ Coyote s550 auto with a cheap power adder like Vortech/Paxton.

The added bonus is the Shelby will still draw $30-35k (about what you have invested) while the Coyote car will be worth significantly less.

Spot on, all the 07-09 cars need is TVS swap, ID 1000s/1050s, tune...you can find very nice low miles all day around here under 30K
