Ford has done a piss poor job at maintaining performance oriented media buzz since the Ford GT/GT350 are old news. Folks are looking at other manufacturers like Chevrolet ZL1, ZR1, Mid Engine Vette, Hell Cat topped by Demon news, and associating them with performance.
No one is looking at Ford anymore as a performance brand. I think this in turns hurts used value.
They are in the news for something they are not, which is posing as a Supercar manufacturer sueing John Cena. Any publicity is good publicity I suppose.
7k depreciation in a few years isn't that bad though. 10 year old cars still retailing for 28k. I think you find a lot, not selling because owners would rather keep them than give them away. They are pretty awesome cars.
