Ford has done a piss poor job at maintaining performance oriented media buzz since the Ford GT/GT350 are old news. Folks are looking at other manufacturers like Chevrolet ZL1, ZR1, Mid Engine Vette, Hell Cat topped by Demon news, and associating them with performance.

No one is looking at Ford anymore as a performance brand. I think this in turns hurts used value.

They are in the news for something they are not, which is posing as a Supercar manufacturer sueing John Cena. Any publicity is good publicity I suppose.

7k depreciation in a few years isn't that bad though. 10 year old cars still retailing for 28k. I think you find a lot, not selling because owners would rather keep them than give them away. They are pretty awesome cars.

I'd say it is on a bell curve.

Clean cars will sell. Beat/corny ones will not.

I would most definitely NOT say that 07-09s have not aged well. If clean, they look great. If beat, they look..... well, "aged". Lol

Same thing with a Terminator or even a Z06.

The problem for them is that there are too many other options in that price range.

Just look at how rapidly the hellcats are depreciating... Im seeing them in the high 40s with low miles. Thats crazy.

Just seems like most people looking to spend 35k+ are looking to buy new nowadays....

I bet their prices will stabilize in the 35-40K range for CLEAN low mile examples.

I don't like Camaros, but you can get a zl1 for mid 30k. Other than liking Mustangs more, the performance I could get out of a zl1 will blow away 07-12 gt500. Even cts-v and z06s are in the low 30s now. I'd drop $25k on a clean terminator before a GT500 because I think the Terminators are the Supra of its day.

The only ZL1s you will find for mid 30s are gonna be higher mileage / molested examples.

Handling wise, you are correct, the ZL1 will annihilate the 500s but in straight-line speed, it will not. They can go toe to toe in that arena.

Eh, have you looked lately? There was a super clean 25k mile M6 with basic bolt ons in my market not long ago for $34k. The minty under 10k mile ones are being listed under $40k as well...

I love all 500s from 07-14...though it is shocking to see really clean low mile cars going so cheap. I have thought about a kona 12, or DiB 2013/2014 500 and wondered if my wife would even notice that it wasn’t my 14 DiB GT.

I'm trying to sell my 2008. ~34k miles, body color painted mouldings, cat back is the only mod outside of Forgestar CF-10s on Bridgestones. It's a good looking car for those years and even compared to some of the newer years, but I'm worried now about finding a buyer. I'm not trying to lose my ass on it but I have to be realistic.

Mid 30s to me is 34-36... I do not see any sub 10k mile examples for 34-36. Most sub 10k mile examples will be in the 40k+ range.

Higher mileage to me would be 25k+

Comparable 500s can be had for about 5k cheaper.

I have. A few gems can be found but not the majority. 25k+ mile examples are being listed for high $30s. And sub 10k mile examples are mostly in the $40k+

My 2014 GT500 is up for sale. The 1st $75K cash offer gets this baby...not a dime less.

Just trying to adjust the market value.

No takers? Guess I'll be forced to keep Her around for long long time:)
All I have is 74,999.91 take it or leave it.

I have a Gen 3 Steigmeier ported VMP 2.3 for it as well but I haven't been able to put it on. Im planning on keeping it for another project but for the right price I could include it. I forgot I also have a Kooks X pipe that I got a deal on but hsven't put on because I haven't bought headers. My priorities are just elsewhere right now.

I guess...but there's literally 4 on eBay with BIN prices with offers accepted that are sub $40k with less than 10k miles. One has less than 1k, for $38k.

Just saying. It shocked me as well, but I stumbled across them looking at current 1LE prices.

The fact you can get a 17+ 1LE now for mid-high 30s probably pushed those prices down.

Its a beauty man. I would not sell that car below $30K up until it hits above 50K miles on the ODO.

Best of luck.

I'd buy your car for 30k waaaay before I'd pay 30K for a similar mileage Terminator. ALL DAY SON!!!

I've noticed GT500's take a hit lately. I think the people that bought them new wanted the biggest and baddest and their performance has been surpassed by Zl this, Hellcat that, etc. Also a lot GT500 owners are asking way too much for their cars.
03/04 Cobras have seen their bottom and have stabilized and clean unmolested ones are pulling some impressive numbers. Also they only made them 2 years and stopped. The GT500 was in production for 8 years with 13/14 being the really special ones imo.
Also for the price of a 07-09 car you can get a very clean low mileage 13/14 GT which you can still get low rates and 60+ month financing, A more modern looking car, nicer interior and similar performance.
I think GT500's still have a way to go on the depreciation scale before they bottom. And if you think GT500's are bad right now take a look at C6's or worse 60's era muscle cars. All except the blue chips have tanked, but no where near as bad as used Harleys

I hear you. I think the you can find great deals here and there but I wouldnt say it is the norm to fing low mile mint ZL1s for under 40.

ZL1s are usually a few K more than 07-12s in same condition.

Id take a low mile mint condition ZL1 over a same condition ss 1le ALL DAY.

I do miss my 5g ss 1le though...
