Damn that sounds awesome!

I was just about to drop the cash on a new Smith and Wesson nickle platted .357, I might have to rethink my decision now. Better get my silver dollar out.

Nice write-up and power gains! What material are these headers made of and what wall thickness are the tubes? Also, how thick are the flanges?

Do they have these for 11's? How Much? And are they really needed if Im going with the Roush anyway (already pushing the limits of the bottom end)

a little off topic, but i am glad to finally see a black rtr, i had doubts about the rtr front lip, but it does look good on a black car.

Thought i see on another board that a guy just installed this 2 wks ago and only picked up 25 rwhp. Think he had JLT and Lund tune. Will try to find it.

I know stepped headers work I have run them for years plus my race quad has a custom stepped header that works real nice. But something seems. Hmmm

25 would be a bit more believable. I'm a little more than skeptical about a 40 HP gain with headers alone.
I'm sure there's an agenda here. Like the OP is now a dealer for Pypes.

define tight fit

It sits close to the steering shaft

It's a stainless steel pipe. I'll measure the thickness later on today though.

These fit 2011+

Hmm steve my x pipe looks different!

They might have changed the design recently. Last 4 I have looked at all look like this.

Well... sorry you do not like what we did and I had NO hidden agenda behind this or anything we do with write ups. I infect enjoy doing things like this because many people here know I am honest about things. Why I love this country and spent 11 years defending... You can happily pick them up from any Pypes dealer and have whomever tune them.

We will be having a 2013 E85 GT on the roller's very soon and I'll be posting the results as well. Ill even make a video of the pull and graph to show no hidden agenda.

I will also be doing another write up on the TVS swap on a GT500 and kooks install on a 2013 GT. Why you might ask...... because I enjoy it!

With that being said.

These pwr numbers also bother me. I'm not saying it's not possible but there hasn't been a header or exhaust system out that has made this kind of pwr your claiming. Justin does all my tuning and the factory headers are still on my car. From what I have seen before and after didn't impress me enough to buy long tubes. They look real nice and I like the stepped portion seems like Pypes has done what others haven't. But theres a possibility that stepping the header on this motor does nothing and thats why other manufactures don't do it. I can't see Kooks not doing it if it didn't help?
Sure would have liked to seen the car dynoed maxed out with the tune before it was maxed out after the header install. I'm not calling foul play just wondering about the tune before the install. U know being a tuner a little adjustment here and there can change pwr numbers by 10rwhp.
Time will tell once other tuners get there hands on these pypes. I'll tell u this I'm not going to be the guinea pig.
If these pwr numbers are true I will purchase them.

I'm Happy you guys found some power. But 42HP at the wheels from a CAI and a set of long tubes is a bit much. That's more than a 10% gain in RWHP.
It seems Chris did a bit more than just Tweak the tune for the headers and CAI.
I've been around a long time and have never seen gains like this on any vehicle from a CAI and headers. It looks more like a hot tune (race tune) was in the car for the 42 HP gain. Not even close to the tune that was in the car on the first dyno run.

Theirs going to be a lot of speculation on these headers or any parts that people can't believe. It happens with everything. Plus the stepped header has been around for a LONG time. It's just now brought to the street market for this cost. Many companies do make them. Just not for street use. We are NOT saying Pypes is the right choice for your car. This was a simple swap that you can do in your own garage and us showing what happened when we did it. We installed the headers and it made this number.

I'm doing the same thing with kooks tomorrow and a TVS swap today

You guys are failing to realize that it was longtubes, O/R X and tune. That is not two mods, that is 3. 40 RWHP for all of those mods is very believable. I bet the headers are worth exactly what other longtubes have been worth over and above a tune, CAI and O/R midpipe.
