I just noticed, your first pic, you trimmed the bumper to clear the fitting. Ugh, I won't do that. Hopefully I can adjust things enough

Anybody have pics of this gen3 installed yet? I looked through this thread again and didn't see any. I just put one on a customers car and am fitting the bumper tonight. I didn't see a way to hide the lines on the bottom. And with insulation on one of the lines, I can imagine the bumper will fight me going on because there is minimal room between it and the HE bracket on the passenger side.

I just finished my install with insulated lines. They show but it doesnt bother me. I did not have trim the bumper although it was a snug fit and i needed help getting it on. I'll post some pics in a little bit.

I was able to get it all on. It does hang lower than I would like, but not much you can do based on the design. I didn't have to trim the bumper and one line is pretty much fully hidden. The other line with the insulation is what you can see. Without the insulation it would blend in a lot better and reducing that diameter would help with the visual effect, but no biggie. If Ceanes goes to the track I don't want anything dripping because they won't let you run if you are.

Alright, thank you. While we're here, are there any available at this price still?

All of the terminator kits are gone, but we've had a decent amount of requests for an extension on this sale. So we're building 10 more. They should be ready in about 7-10 days. These new cores have the low profile fittings all on the top side of the unit, so you'll have the option of installing it facing up or down. These will be a little bit more efficient facing down, but you'll still get excellent performance facing up.

The fittings will be even more low profile, so you will not see the fittings or lines if you decide to install it facing down.

What can I use to lubricate the o-rings besides PAG 46 oil? I don't want to buy a big container when I just need a few drops.

You can use a light coating of WD-40.

J.Kincaid when I talked to you on the phone you said I could get some "T" or fitting to install into the lines so I can add a temp sensor. Could you tell me what to look for at my Hardware store.

You can find them at Low's in the plumbing section. You'll have to use a reducer fitting for the sending unit. The center tap of the tee is 1/2" so you'll have to reduce it to 1/8"

Ok, thanks for the pics. The one I just did will probably show a bit more because the customer originally had the gen1 or gen2 KC, so everything was up top and I cut a lot of the foam out to sink it down to clear everything up top. So naturally the bottom fittings will probably be lower than yours are, but yours look pretty damn good. I will know more when I fit the bumper. But you also don't have any insulation on the line either, which ads a good bit of needed room.

In addition, I installed it with the AC fittings up top and coolant lines on bottom based on the KC sticker on the AC side and I figured that was supposed to point up like the other. so coolant lines being bigger than AC lines, so insulation is even bigger.

Great idea about painting black. I will do that and since he has the stock HE still, it should blend in pretty good.

The A/C fitting should face down, although it'll work fine facing up. Also, you do not have to have insulation on the lines that are right up front. It's more important to insulate the lines exposed to engine heat / fan wash.

As stated before, you do not have to insulate the lines up front, and no insulation is needed for the line running from the condenser to the KC. I would only insulate the evap and suction lines.

Joe,

I would update your instructions on your site then. Last time I checked they didnt reference the new exchanger. Since it doesnt matter, I won't be switching this one.

I did just go on a 2hr road trip to get some miles on this car and check everything else out I did. Intercooler temps stayed in mid to low 70's while cruising, tap the gas and they go up a bit as expected but fall pretty quickly. Lowest I saw while cruising was 70 and highest was about 98 when going up a mountain with load on the car or when I got into some boost. Then falls right back down when cruising. Outside temps are in the 80's.

Using the 134a in the system.

Sorry, I try to get back to everyone within a day or two, but we've been slammed busy, and some idiot cut our power to steal the copper cable, so we we're closed for 4 days getting that fixed.

Let me know if you need anything, and I'll give you a call this evening.

Thanks,
Joe

As stated in our conversation this morning, your IC fluid temps should be 50-60 degrees post IC. Please let me know how it goes after the recharge.

Do I need a different type of kit for my 2V GT then?

Nope, the 03-04 Cobra kit works for all 99-04 GT mustangs.

Joe it looks like the Industrial 12a is not available right now;

We are having a dispute with the D.O.T. regarding the Industrial 12a. They say that even one can is considered hazmat and need to be charged an additional $21.00 hazmat fee and marked "appropriately". We will not be able to comply with that ruling for at least a week. The options are this: Get a 30 lb equivalent cylinder for $150.00 total delivered, or get the regular ES-12a. Six cans of it are $45.00 total delivered. Please advise.

Joe,

Thanks. that was actually Chuck you spoke to before. He is ordering the 12a and I luckily have another foam support that I will use for the gen3 chiller and flip it the opposite way I have it now.

Whew, glad I ordered mine a while back and have my 6 cans sitting in a box in the garage now waiting till the kids are back in school so I can tear down my car and install everything.

I just tried calling them, but they're closed. I'll try them in the morning and let you guys know what they say. I wouldn't get the regular Es12a, as it can't be charged under a vacuum.

Sounds good, let me know how it works out for you.

ok i got mine charged .. high side is approx 240psi and low side is just above 50psi.. it was about 87* out

cabin air feels very cool and i/c temps feel nice and cool to the tough .. i didn't notice my iat2's drop much tho as they sat around 105* for the 15 minutes i let it idle to check the gauges

so im assuming it's done but i don't see the low pressures as low as some of you are stating..

*when i bump the throttle they drop to 40ish and the high side goes up some*

I think it is the placement of the IAT2 sensor that throws it off, it reads alot of heat from the metal surrounding it

The sensor I put on ceanes' car is in the coolant res. So it is seeing he coolant temp after the boost heated up the coolant.
