So how does that work? As he tweaks tunes and finds improvements, he sends them out to other folks with his tunes already? If so, that's pretty awesome.

Yes, and he will test certain improvements on customers' cars and apply them to everyone.

maybe it's just me but why does he have to continuously revise, revise, revise etc etc for just your basic bolt-on car? I mean yes I would want my car to be tuned with the best possible tune, But to me or as I read he is the only one that has to have log, after log after log.. I mean there are companies like AM, Brenspeed,BBR,Lund that will look at the logs and change certain things in them as necessary, but to continue to make revision after revision sounds kinda iffy? and are you guys sending him stock tune or already tuned logs?

Because Shaun is not content to rest on his laurels and not move forward. Tuning these cars is still in the beginning stages and there are new things to be discovered. He keeps trying new things, he keeps revising the tunes and looking for safer ways to make more power, with better street manners, economy etc. This is why Shaun's customers are universally passionate about his tunes, they are better because he is more dedicated to developing them than most.

Would a completely stock car down to the paper air filter get any gains from AED tunes? I've got 25k on the clock, never been dynoed or tracked but wanna a little extra horse without spending loads of $$$ on mods. I've been thinking of going with one of the other vendors but u all seem to talk crazy good about the customer service and that's #1 in my book!

Yes, for certain. The tune is where the majority of the gains are to be had. I don't have any huge mods, neither does Shaun. I ran my 11.9 with a stock air box and 3.31 gears.

I'm glade your are happy with AED tune. Shaun is also my tuner. But I had my car dyno tuned by him. Because I don't trust any other tuners, in my area with tuning. That's why I drive 2 1/2 hours to have it tuned by him. Glade your a happy camper with his tune.

Progress on the auto calibration is coming along, I've got a few guys I'm working with out there running an Idle Lope version. Just needs a few more Tweeks at WOT.

Shawn don't mean to cause problems but thought I would look up a few things.

What is Ur point of view on the few people accusing u of blowing up their mustang?

If you're talking about the 5.0 and #8 there are a few things to take into account.
We found the cause of the #8 in late Dec, and it's in the Factory tune. First thing after the new year I sent out updates to all customers which resolved this issue correctly. (tested/verified the cause and fix)

That particular car was sent a tune in late Nov, a local who was supposed to load the 'base' tune for the CAI and bring it to me to dial in. He never showed and a few weeks later said he had the #8 go.

The #8 is in the Factory tune. But it doesn't show up unless you:
1. Have a clutch/flywheel replaced and a Nuetral Profile Relearn is not performed. P03xx trouble code
2. Got WOT for an extended amount of time (5th/6th gear WOT pulls).

That customer went WOT past 145mph in a car that was not yet dialed in. Just a 'base' SCT value file for the Maff and I was waiting for him to come in for a full tune.
The tune issue is based on Maff lb/min calculated vs the factory limits. Adding a CAI will hit these limts much easier than a stock CAI. Another reason why aftermarket CAI's don't perform at the track vs stock CAI's.

FWIW there have been factory stock cars that have blown, as well as TracKey tuned stock Boss's.
No car is imune as it's in the Factory tune.

Which means you really do want a tuner that knows what the cause is, and the proper solution to do in the calibration.

Shift points are much better than stock IMO.
It does not shift into 6th at 40mph.
The goal was 1600-1800 very light load shifts and 2200-2500 moderate throttle shifts. We've acomplished that, but need to work on WOT firmness/delays.

just installed everything, this tune's driveability is by far the best ive driven. I installed the cam tune and the car will be learning tomorrow morning on the way to work but otherwise after he did the final touches it now feels great! I too used to a maxed out drive by wire system and will take some time to relearn to drive this a bit. Right now im getting yelled at by Ms Vicious cuz the front room stinks cuz of the cam tune... ahhhh yes antoher way to piss her off :D

Ha ha. I too loaded up the cam tune tonight and it is quite stinky. The only problem with the tune is that it makes me want real cams. Ones that lope a little harder. That, or go ahead and get the GT500 axleback I've been wanting. I have the offroad H, but with factory mufflers, the lope isn't quite as pronounced. But I do like that it shakes the car a bit. It's really neat. First time I've ever found myself wanting to actually get stopped at a red light. LOL
