Seems his BS is not wanted elsewhere also. The jmatero MT-82 Faulty Transmission Thread - The Mustang Source - Ford Mustang Forums
Just thought I would drop in here and add some real facts on the issue; I am getting my THIRD transmission right now....
Supposedly this transmission has different gears(stated both the FSE and an Executive Liaison); we'll see.
Go ahead, state it's my driving, but I also have had a 2010 that didn't act this way nor any of my other manual vehicles; this is a GETRAG/Ford problem and there is no denying that.

It was started by somebody who spent the past 6 months telling everyone there would never be a NHTSA investigation because I was the only one having problems.
How did that one work out for him?
I left AFM because of these types of threads. Unfortunately it is spreading like a virus.
I appreciate factual information as much as the next person but when it takes on fervor like this I quickly become nauseated by it all.
Jmatero please go back to AFM. Your credibility is quickly waning and I think most of us have had quite enough.
I don't know, nor do I care. I just did a quick search on your username and you sure have quite the history of complaining online. Complaints about your phone, your internet, about televisions. And, most notably, a real history of complaining about transmissions/shifters/clutches on a variety of vehicles from different manufacturers, you use the word lemon fairly regularly. Then there's the things that when added together may or may not point to something else, your comments about owning a Miata, owning a scooter, San Francisco, and it's already clear you like to drive stick.
I have the same mentality that you do in the sense I want true, factual information.
I haven't been on this issue (threads) for too long, as my car is only a few months old, but I can tell you that from what I have seen, Jmatero is trying to do good here.
Is he everywhere? YES! Does that annoy people who are using the thread to put in aftermarket speakers/lights/grilles/wheels/everything under the sun as they are clogged with this issue? YES! Am I thankful that there is a person out there who is spending countless hours to help get traction on Ford's problem? YES!!!!!!!!!
If he is stating something that is wrong/contradicting, by all means call him out...
But people who come in bashing him without any substance and bringing up irrelevant issues is petty; let's keep our heads up as fellow mustang owners and HELP individuals like myself resolve this problem.
I am going to provide as much info. on my venture(3rd tranny is on order) with this car everywhere I am also; for the sake of helping others diagnose the issue.
I grew up Ford my whole life, there are 4 Fords in the driveway currently(two which are mustangs: a 2010 GT prem. that is purring like a kitten and then my 2011 Base w/Brembo's) and I am not here to bash the Ford heritage. I do want to be the squeaky wheel in this whole thing, as I am confident in my knowledge of troubleshooting (I do it for a living), and trust my own input on the problem as a whole.
Let's try to be constructive here.

awesome post. im sure he eats bananas every morning for breakfast.
Haha you are funny... with as much time as you have investigated in his screenname, I would have thought you would have looked me up by now.
Do it. I am me.
That's a great question. If you rule out everything but the transmission, there are a number of possibilities. One thing that we know is that in most of the cases where the transmission has been rebuilt:
1. Pilot bearings were trashed
2. Synchronizers were trashed
3. Gear teeth were missing
4. Shift forks were bent
Now... we can only assume 2-4 were also the case in cars with replacement transmissions.
Now... add to that... NOBODY has posted yet that a transmission rebuild or replacement was a permanent fix... the issues returned.
One possibility that has been discussed is that there may be a motor/transmission alignment issue. This would explain why both the factory in China (if it's on the transmission side) AND Flat Rock (on the motor side) haven't identified any issues. BUT bolt the motor and transmission together... and drive a few thousand miles... BAM. Misalignment would also explain the trashed pilot bearings and bent shift forks... etc.
This would ALSO explain why some of these are train wrecks and others are flawless.
Again, this is all guess-work and we'll have to wait and see what the NHTSA and Ford come up with.
