Set it aside, put it in the garage under a cover and go enjoy life for a while ! Take out the girlfriend and have some fun ! The car will be waiting when you get back. Dont do anything hasty, it took me two winters worth to get mine done !

Excellent work sir. It's a tragedy that it didn't come together like we all were hoping. Would it be worth it to get a factory long block 5.4L and restart the process? It would be a terrible shame to quit after all of that hard work.

I should have some information by this weekend to let everyone know whats going on with the car. Ive took a step back from it for a few days then got back to it on Sunday and reexamined the situation.

That's a tough break ironhand. But I say don't give up. Just shelf it for a while. I assume you have another car. So its not like your in that kind of a bind where your stranded.

Your honestly a hero. We've all followed this thread religiously. Don't ggive up. Even if it takes a year. You'll get the urge again. And when you do, it'll be waiting for you.

You thought I was done???? Just stepping up my game and taking it to the next level.

If you put a standard flat top piston into a 5.4 then you will only net about a 9.65 compression ration because the pistons sit down in the bores between .118-.122.

So I got some 0 deck pistons with thicker then normal ringlands. With a -19cc dish and standard 4 valve heads.
How does a 5.4L at 10:1 Compression, 3.4L Whipple, on E-85 sound?

I went 10:1 because the car might have to be driven on pump gas in the future. I might add big cams to the car later and didnt want valve reliefs in the pistons. It was a happy middle ground for me.

I wanna see 900 plus now. I might throw the 3.0 upper or 2lb lower on it just for the hell of it. (I have 3.20 upper and 6.55 lower now)

I sub'd this thread a while back and just now had the chance to read all the way through it. This car is SICK. Despite the trials and tribulations, you're going to be VERY pleased with this car when it's all done. Only the sickest cobras come from Central Florida!! :beer:

I spoke to the Machine Shop today and the pistons should be in at the week of this week or the beginning of next week. The block should be ready to go in the next few days as well.
