Headed out for the Mustang International meet in Bozeman and decided to head on into Wyoming to Yellowstone for a couple days! Glad I did, was an awesome time and got to see a lot of cool Volcanic things, wild life and more. Here are some pics from the last couple days. :beer:

If you were there a couple days, where did you stay overnight? I'd like to make another trip out there, but don't want to pay the ludicrous prices they charge at the lodges.

seriously, you owe it to your life to go there at least once, so many incredible things in one place. I really need wanna go back again!
We would stay near Jackson Hole, Wyoming a bit and then Gardner, Montana. Neither were terribly far from an entrance to go spend the day wandering.

Not many people get to see a grizz or a wolf. let alone on the same trip.
nice pics. I was wondering how you got so close to some of those features. I thought they closed most of that stuff off to the public.
You have to stay on the walkways, but you can walk right up on, get pretty close to a lot of stuff. He'll we could have reached out and touched some of the wild life if we didn't like or hands or door panels... They were that close at times. :beer:

I have only been there once and it was in the winter. Very few people and we went everywhere on snowmobiles. It was fantastic. But I didn't see anything alive except for other snowmobilers.

I have a 500mm mirror lens from Nikkor and three Meade telescopes with Nikon adapters for terrestrial photography. So I am covered from 16mm up to 3200mm.

Really great pics. Just showed my wife. Brought back memories of our honeymoon trip from CT to CA, with a stop at Yellowstone. A huge bear decided to lumber over to our car and had his claws on the passenger window. She freaked out, of course. I went to her rescue and threw some cookies 15 feet from the car. Unfortunately that was a couple of feet from a woman watching all this. She didn't look happy as she bolted for her car door. LOL!
