On a serious note... Banks giving out loans to people that can't afford them is to blame for shit like this. If the woman's credit is trashed and she's unable to or unwilling to pay her notes, she needs to take the bus. If more banks turned away folks that simply cannot or will not pay, we'd have less of this bullshit.

So true. I was a mortgage broker during the refi boom and subsequent collapse. Banks were giving people with 550 or lower credit scores 300k+ mortgages on shit income. Even using 6 month ARM's knowing in 6 months when the payment doubled, they could not pay for it.

I used to advise people not to take some deals even though I was making 5k+ on it. They didn't care as they wanted 10k or more cash on equity and banks didn't care because they knew they would get bailed out after the sub-prime shit hit the fan.
