RED2003COBRA said:Yes, it does quite a bit and this can be good and bad. My father is a raging liberal and I agreed with him until I was just out of college. I starting thinking about things and decieded that I didnt' agree with his politics at all. We do agree on religion though. Anyway, I decieded that I didn't agree with his passive and liberal ideas, so I'm now an airforce pilot. I think that at times one needs to stand up and kick some butt when needed. I also am a die hard conservative and proud of it.

Marx stunk. Unless you don't mind a dictatorship for a long period of time. It pits fellow countrymen against eachother in an effort to destroy economic freedom. Centralizes control of all industry, education, agricultrure and removes the private ownership and production.MTShambles said:Read the Communist Manifesto by Marx. Quite a good read. It would all be nice if we could follow through with the Manifesto and live as Marx invisioned. Too bad we're all too ****ed up to do that .

Of course, the liberal Democrats and liberal media keep chanting that we have a democracy, and too many of the sheeple believe this, not understanding history.
It's a great disappointment to me that our elected government is embarked on a mission to bring "democracy" to the oppressed masses in the Middle East.

A man who hates rich people so much is no man at all.
I could not imagine any modern society falling for the trap of communism. If entropy could apply we would all live somewhere between middle class and lower claas to have everyone at the same standard of living worlwide. While a windfall for the 3rd world types an absolute eye opener for advanced societies.MTShambles said:Well, it kinda puts it into a "do the ends justify the means" type focus. The finished product would be nice (Utopian Society).
Remember, when this was written there was a VERY LARGE gap inbetween the middle/lower and the upper class (proletariats). At the time it was a revolutionary idea and a revolt would have solved a lot of problems (unfair wages, housing conditions, etc..)
In todays time, however, Marxism wouldnt be too good of a choice.

What is the take on religion for the communist? While I am not a believer i would not want to dictate godlessness to others.
"There are, besides, eternal truths, such as Freedom, Justice, etc., that are common to all states of society. But communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis; it therefore acts in contradiction to all past historical experience."MTShambles said:As far as religion goes, I dont think that Marx said that there was a God at all. Religion didnt play into any part of Marxism that I can remember, but I havnt read the Manifesto in a while.

Too many of the sheeple huh? I suppose that includes our president... who you probably voted for. Maybe it's not the liberals maybe its most elected officials in our country. Think a little bit.
Like I say, i am non-religious, I just don't have a warm fuzzy about making others like me. I love my uniqueness! :beer:MTShambles said:I knew Marx made some kind of famous quote in reference to religion, just couldnt think of it.
Didnt really know about the other stuff though. You learn something new everyday.
czwalga00gt said:Maybe you should learn a thing or two before you spout off about stuff you have no clue what you're talking about. Cuba/North Korea really live in a facsist state with some communist ideas. Everyone says they live in a communist state, but thats just the ideal adopted by everyone in this country.
If the actual idea of communism was in place in north korea/cuba there would would not be 70million people being killed as you put it.
Like someone else stated, the actual idea of communism isnt a bad idea; It would never work on a wide scale of people. The american indians had a MUCH closer system to communism than any of the countries we're told have a communist government. To my knowledge the only fairly recent system of pure communism happend during the spanish civil war... it didnt last very long and it wasnt a lot of people... a small group of freedom fighters.
