Thanks!

Awesome car! Where did you get the brake kit? I really want some Brembo's....lol
I got them from buyfordracing.com a few years ago.
Silver caliper version of the 2000 "R" brake kit, which have black calipers.

In the process of getting it inspected and registered.
It will be "built from parts" title, similar to kit car.
FDOT will assign a VIN to it.
Currently State Farm, but might go to Grundy.

oh cool. What I'm wondering about insurance, do you think its more, less, or about the same, as it would cost to insure a regular 03-04 cobra?

Grundy is almost always cheaper.
There is another classic car insurer but the name escapes me right now.
They cost less also.

I used Grundy to insure my 99, extremely low rates, zero deductible, unlimited mileage, and agreed value so you can insure it for more than book value.
I got my insurance for almost 1/2 price from the nearest competitor.

For mine, the rate was 740 for a YEAR!
I could not say no to that.
Was paying almost twice that on the Mach 1. (sold)

That would work.
Once it's all legal, I do plan on going over to the east coast,
maybe visit a buddy in Vero beach.

Well, Grundy was a bust.
They do not like that my other vehicle is a 96 mini van.
I am a bit perturbed,
who are they to tell me which other car I am allowed to drive?
We always take the 2008 SUV everywhere anyway.
Oh well, hopefully Hagerty is more car friendly and reasonable.
WILL keep everyone posted as to a good Ins. for your custom car.

Grundy told me my 2000 Ranger wasn't new enough and that pickups don't qualify as "primary vehicles" or something like that. Aside from the fact that I also have a state issued work vehicle. They also didn't like that I'm 26, even though they state 25 as the min age.

It was excuse after excuse with them. :rollseyes

Barrett Jackson considered the cobra an "exotic", that their underwriters weren't taking policies on.

I got basically the same BS from them.
What did you wind up getting?

Perhaps but you have all the amenities the R does not and you have a badass 5.4!

True, I always liked the 2000 R, my favorite of all Mustangs,
ever since I saw a prototype in Naples, FL at the test track.
That team was right next to mine.
This is a compilation of my favorite New Edge components,
all wrapped up in one vehicle.
