Thanks, warmed it up today in the driveway.
Love how the cams sound.
It fires right up, hardly hear the starter crank up at all.

Still trying to find an insurance co. that actually understands what was done here.
Currently "Infinity Collector" insurance.
Anyone heard of them good or bad?

You cant just go through Progressive? Or are you trying to get a company that will insure the car for what you feel like its worth then have them calculate payments off of that?

Most "normal" companies will not insure a "Custom" car,
the issue being a State issued VIN.
Heacock will only insure it to 25k, which is pretty unacceptable.
Heck the paint and the motor combined normally cost about that.

Makes sense. Whats the point of insuring it if something happens and it wont pay to replace it. What about trying to include it in your home owners insurance. I mean its no different then your wife's wedding ring. Everything has a value.

I'm in the process of gathering parts for my 4.6 32V rebuild, but I keep seeing this and its really whetting my appetite!

What would be the cost diff between a forged, 10.5:1 (or whatver I could do), ported head and FR500 cammed 4.6 VS. a 5.4 equipped the same way?

Thanks!!

Great to see some numbers up. Love the build. Any inside info from your Ford developer friends if the 2011 GT500 alum block will be a FRPP part and cheaper than the FGT wet sump block? That would give some of your biggest critics a kick in the pants.

Latest is yes the block will be available eventually.
The wet sump block is actually pretty reasonable,
it used to be a lot more.
Also, the 2011 5.0 will be available is crate form,
and the electronic management will be also.

On the car news, waiting for more paperwork to arrive,
then send it to DMV, and hopefully insoection.
Dying to drive this thing.
Put a coat of some newfangled Meguairs wax on it yesterday.
Good stuff.
Took it for a blowdry after wash/wax/rinse, very fun.
I guess my rev limiter is set at 7k.
Found out in 2nd gear.
I didn't even turn on the Mach 460 stereo,
Motor was the only thing I wanted to hear.

Forget about the Coyote. Just drove a 2011 f250 with the 6.2L Boss. Not bad acceleration for a pig. When is the boss coming to a FRPP catalog near you?

I thought about that too, but I may be able to salvage more than I thought. Even if I couldn't, this 5.4 build would be the way to go I think. The Coyote and the 6.2 would most likley need ECU stuff to make it work, where as the 5.4 works with our ECU.

Today I had a DMV inspector come over and verify the transmission serial #.
One more inspection to go and if it passes,
it will be street legal.
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

After a 4 year build, and a strange interaction with the Florida DMV,
my 5.4 BIW car is finally titled, insured and legal to drive.
I have nothing nice to say about the West Coast Florida DMV,
but the DMV on the East Coast of Florida,
well they have their act together.
The car was inspected at the DMV in West Palm Beach this afternoon,
then titled in Deerfield Beach.
WPB and DB staff were nothing short of professional and on their toes.
I got accomplished in ONE DAY what Palmetto, Fl. DMV could not
in over 18 months!
My lesson learned?
I did have to wrote my local State Congresswoman,
and she got results within DAYS!
East Coast Fl. DMV employees actually follow the State Statutes,
and do not make shiite up as they go along.
I am grateful to Al Papitto, the Staff at STEEDA and several others
in helping with the build.
It will be at the STEEDA Stampede this Saturday,
including the FFW at Palm Beach Race track, (formerly Moroso)

Also, it will be re-dyno'd tomorrow at Street Rods and Classics
in Boca Raton by George Landis, quite the car builder and racer himself,
so hopefully some improved numbers.

Whew, it's DONE !!
