Picked up another set of 15” S71 skinnies. Spent a few hours to get them cleaned up. Will have a set of front/rear with DRs for the street and will keep the other set with bias ply for the track. I think the last set of slicks flat-spotted sitting in the garage too long….
Forgive the messy garage lol

Same boost with way less pulley typically yields @50rwhp over Gen3/4.

Likely a bit more over a Gen2.

I keep going back and forth with the damn Gen5. I’ve bought it twice then backed out….ridiculous. I’m at the top of injector duty cycle now, and 4th is 68-6900rpm through the traps. So at a minimum I’d be looking at new injectors, gears, and tune on top.

It’s so tempting for what sounds like 50-100hp gain at same boost level from my current Gen2 2.9 though.

Get that thing on and let me know how much better it feels….

My new gasket from @CobraBob showed up today. He was nice enough to send me one that matched my car. I'm ready to play again. And yes, I remembered to use loctite this time. View attachment 1783142View attachment 1783143View attachment 1783144

Nice,
I see guys on here racing about these gaskets. I installed a mgw on my car with the gasket that came with it. To me there isn’t much noise at all. Are some just noisy and this gasket helps? Just curious of the difference between the cobra Bob and a standard one.

Glad you got the gasket so quick and got it installed, Bob. Enjoy the quieter cabin. LOL. (y)

@muscleatsrice, MGW has off-and-on provided a silicone gasket with their shifters. I actually was their first supplier, many moons ago. Then they stopped providing silicone gaskets and said they preferred to follow Ford's recommendation of using the tradition sealer. Then they decided to go back to silicone gaskets a fews years later, but this time made their own. There is no real difference between MGW's provided gasket (when they do include it) and mine. They both do the same thing, isolate noise and vibration in a "clean" way.

Noise and vibration is common with pretty much all shifters (manual transmission), including MGW. The shifter acts as a conduit for noise generated from the gear box. The gasket acts as a noise barrier, effectively silencing most of the noise. It also reduced generated vibration. Simple, inexpensive product that actually works well.

Got it! Thanks for the explanation

I made the same decision this morning. I debtated since it was cold this morning, but as I was driving down the street I was glad I drove it.

It also hit me on my way into work that as of last month I've had mine 8 years.

14 years here, still as good as the day i bought it. Just need something more powerful shortly here, probably going to be getting a GT350 to accompany the cobra and supercharging that too.

I was a late comer to the 03/04 life. Had an 01 because that's all I could afford at the time. But then of course after all the money I dumped into the 01 I could have bought the 04.

I have decided if I ever want more power I'm going to find another platform. This one scares me just enough where it's at.

Cleaning under the hood and found this crack, any suggestions I don't even know how to find this? It's 2.2

No worries
Looks to be a simple 1/8" NPT (pipe thread) street elbow. Street elbow : Male on one side, female on the other. You should easily find one online or a decent hardware store. This time go with stainless instead of brass.
