Most ppl I see with the vmp blower are running 18-19 pounds boost. Why is that and what the max the stock motor can hold thinking turning my up to around 25# running 19 at the moment. Just looking for some info

Tim, I'm curious as to why you went TVS instead of Whipple. It seems you love going to the track and the TVS would get really, really hot in such a manner.

A. I believe I'm making as much (or perhaps even more HP) with my 2.3L TVS over a 2.9L Whipple!! (With my set-up)

B. I love the looks of a TVS!!

C. Can't complain about the Torque with a TVS!!

...Heat is not even a concern of mine with a 7.5 gallon Chiseled Tank in my trunk!

On a "skakedown pass", 3850# (with me), 10-spline & stock IRS (with only a brace) I ran a 10.50 at 137.30 mph!! Enough said!

Just my opinion but my tvs does not get as hot as kb or whipple after couple passes. now thats roll races on street so could be different at track.

so you went 10.89 at 133 at 549rwhp and 10.50 at 137 with over 200 more at the wheel? what do you attribute to that? I figured you would have been closer mph to senkaks 142+. What was the density altitude on your passes with the previous setup 549rwhp versus the tvs?

A. Lets start out by saying two complete different setups!!!! I'll be all over 140+ mph...I came out "very" soft with the TVS and shifted like my grandma!! I didn't want to BREAK the stock 10-spline t56 or IRS!!! ...at MIR, 10.89 at 133 mph I was giving it my best-shifting hard!

B. With the TVS set-up I was carrying 150 lbs MORE weight!!!!! ... MIR weight = 3700 lbs (removed CB, Passenger seat, Passenger swingout) ... LVD = 3850 lbs.with 3/4 tank of fuel

C. MIR = Approx. Sea level ... LVD (Upstate NY) 660 feet

D. Senkak is not carrying 3,850 lbs!!!!!!!! .... and for the most part, he's closer to 140 mph!

Now, with the SRA going in this winter, I hope to free up a few pounds and be on equal ground!! ... or closer anyways!

I was at 22psi with a 3.0 upper and 4lb lower. Have you been to the dyno or track? What kind of intake do you have? How big is your air filter?

My butt dyno couldn't tell the difference between 20psi and 24psi
