Several months now without any info at all. What´s up`?
I would expect more info around autoshow season, or the work truck show in Chicago. Alternatively, it could just show up as an available option with no fanfare.
Seems that FCA is working on a reply with +500 hp
Ram Rebel TR To Reportedly Get A 7.0L V8 | FCAuthority
Did your source seem to think that this is an attainable goal?Got another small update. The 7.3L V8 is going to be backed by the new 10R140 transmission. If it can get ~18MPG empty and ~12 MPG towing with a 4.30 rear gear in a CC/SB/4x4 F-350 I can see it being an insanely popular choice. I could possibly be convinced to give up my PSD.

That would be sweet. It would be a great toy hauler in that trim.Got another small update. The 7.3L V8 is going to be backed by the new 10R140 transmission. Have to ask because I just saw a report that the 2020 Raptor was going to have a 7.0 L SOHC engine option, built at the Essex plant. (the report was dated Sept 29.) I remember reading when the 6.2 V8 came out that reported the bore spacing on the 6.2 would allow for 7L displacement (brings to mind the short lived Roush 777 project). So it seems that Ford could be developing two new large displacement engines. Anybody else pick up on this?
It doesn't make sense unless the 7.3 is being developed for the F-450 and higher rated trucks. It also doesn't make sense that the Essex plant would get an engine the Windsor plant is already tooled for but Ford built variants of the 4.6 at Windsor and Romeo...
And my-oh-my, what if you had to chose between those two for your next F-250?
That's all a pipe dream.
Do you think the raptor in the future will get the 7.3L option?
i predict that boosted versions of these large displacement, ohv engines will soon become Ford's performance engines of the future, and that their 25-year "experiment" with ohc V-8's will ultimately be looked at as sort of a failure.
