It's never nice to hear of a Terminator being totaled. But thankfully you're okay. So sorry for your loss.

I bought mine back for $920! If they're going to cash you out, they'll subtract the buy back value from the pay out price. My insurance gave me $19.5K for my 60K mile 2003, but of course my premium went up. Oh well!

I totaled my Cobra but didn't buy shit back. Seeing as how I was at the track insurance didn't cover shit so it was never theirs to sell back to me. ****ing bastards.

I wish I could give you some, but all my insurance company did to me was to refuse to cover the car, and then they called me about 2 weeks later while I was at work, and told me that they were dropping me. They may end up dropping you, but they should cover your car as long as you weren't at a track which is what's important. Don't tell them racing or driving aggressively or anything like that as they will try to get out of paying it. I'm can't remember how you said it happened in your original post, but that's just some good advice. Most insurance companies will try and weasel their way out of paying for your car if they can fine what they feel is a legit reason. In that case you may need to get a lawyer, and take them to court. Most likely it won't come to that though.

I would guess they may want 2 or 3 grand for you to buy it back, but to be honest I don't really know.

Ouch! I would buy it back, but I just watched the vids from the, MY Buddys 1968 Terminator thread.
Please post a link, I'm restoring a '68 Fastback.

OP - sorry to see your ride all banged up, glad to hear you are ok.

i totaled mine out, had just bought it 4 months prior. Wanted to give me 21k total, I said how much to buy it bc I owed 18200, they gave me 18260 and I kept the car. Sold it for $8500 cash. Its already back on the road.

I haven't done this before, but I would certainly let them make the standard offer first. Once that amount has been decided, ask them what they will do with the car, and is it possible to buy it back from them. I would pull some classifieds from here that are a good representation of the replacement value of the car. Book is one thing, but finding a comparible car for what they offer is another.

Regardless though, I would but it back as the drivetrain and interior should be easy to sell.

I was ran out of my lane by a dodge ram pickup...hit sand and spun her around on the parkway before rush hour thank god....best of luck dealing with the insurance company...i could have made out really well on mine if i was able to re-buy it back...instead a few parts fell off the car before ins cam to get it...lol.

Also stole the spoiler..put a eaton....yes JUST a eaton..no lower intake or anything in place of the whipple 2.3...Damn bear also stole the fore fuel hat and the light bar. Shenanigans I tell ya...still with the same ins company and my premium hasn't moved a penny...they paid me 24k for the car...had only 24k miles on it. Some Canadian bought it to rebuild it....lol....poor Bastard.
