Im not sure if there is a thread like this already or not, but my question is to the people that have 03-04 cobra's (imput from others are welcome also), What lead you to buy your cobra?

Was it the looks? The Speed? The power potential? the rarity? etc?

and for the people with modded cobra's (which is propbably most owners) making major power, are you really using that power, taking it it to the track? street racing? anything motorsport related... or is it you have the power just for the sake of having it,because you want it, or for a little fun every once in while?

looking for honest answers....:pop::beer:

Are you planning on getting one?

I love modding mine. My car is my hobby. I love the power, love the torque and the fact that I can add more power without changing the internals.

Wish I had a coupe sometimes as this is my 2nd convertible. Maybe trade or buy one in the future.

I could care less about rarity. I drive it as much as I can.

I had a 96 v6 gas Sipper when I was in high school. I always dreamed of getting the terminator. I loved the looks (especially the hood, bumper and rear), the sound is sexy, and I knew I could do very little and own my best friends c5. I love to mod it and have fun learning about the car. Driving it is the most satisfying thing to me. I've had my 04 mystic now for 2 years and have enjoyed every minute.

The body styling, forged internals, and those sweet snake emblems. Bought mine bone stock and had bolt ons ready to go. Got bored with 480hp and strapped on a whipple. Got bored with that and added nitrous. These cars are excellent foundations to make awesome power and still be tame enough to drive everyday. That's why I love mine and will probably never sell it.

When I was looking into getting a different car I had narrowed it down to about 10 cars. Really couldn't make up my mind. Then out of nowhere one of my best friends decided he wanted to sell his terminator and get a commuter car (eventually it is being turned into his family car).

So my purchase of my 2003 cobra was an instance of "right place right time". I never really looked into buying one until he and I started talking. Then I found this website and started reading reading reading and was hooked (both on the car and this site).

:)

As far as using the power, I have owned the car for a year an a half and have not gone to the track yet. I do plan on it sometime this summer, but I really just blip the throttle every once in a while or do a random 2-3 pull. No street racing or anything. It's just a fun car to drive around in and have some fun every once in a while :) Im not planning on modding it more than I already have.

To me, the Terminator is one of the best muscle cars ever built in this era. In 30 years when cars today are collectibles, I will tell my kids the 2003-2004 Cobra was the baddest muscle car in my day. Watching youtube videos as a teenager dreaming of having one. Bolt on 450+ rwhp, 6 speed, IRS, forged internals, the seats, and it's one of the best looking mustangs of all time. It has raw feel to it, it gives you a thrill. I wanted to hear the supercharger whine, and these motors produce such an amazing sounding exhaust. I love every single thing about them, then I drove one and definitely had to have one. The green gauges at night as the most badass thing ever. I could go on for days and days. What can I say, most cars today that pull up next to a Terminator will be.....well....TERMINATED

I owned a Mach 1 for a couple years and after that my goal was to pick up a Cobra. Love the look, sound feel and raw power. I DD mine and plan on starting to hit the tracks once they open back up. I also do occasional runs with buddies. As far as mods I just have minor bolt on's. Since its my DD I don't always rip on it. But I will be going twin screw in the future and I'm sure ill find plenty of uses for that power.

what sold it for me was a magazine cover that said "12sec quarter mile stock!"

(that and knowing that women would literally be throwing their hoo-ha's at me when i purchased one)

as soon as the 03 debuted it was an instant icon to mustang enthusiasts and car nuts alike. And it will stand the test of time to remain an icon for years to come.

It was the first of its kind.. a serious revamp of styling, suspension, power, feel, sound.. everything that the package was and made it the "terminator" .. thus, it draws alot of interest.

for me, i wasnt dead set on "having" to own one when they first came out, mainly because at the time, I was all about old school 5.0 mustangs, and n/a power. I didn't really know what to think about the Cobra. It was a couple years later that I really started paying attention, seeing the aftermarket catch fire, checking out tons of setups and watching vids that I really got interested in owning one. Then, in 08, as a bday gift to myself, I bought my SB coupe! Happiest day of my "car" life, lol.

since then, I have went from pulley only to port/upper to port/upper/lower to built engine, port/spray to built engine/2.3 whipple and now adding in a 50 jet. I like to explore the modding process and take it in steps.. roughly 50 hp at a time.

My car (Bella) and I have had a good 4 year run! I don't plan on selling her, but you never know for sure.

Depends on ones age; for the older crowd (like myself) that lived through what the government did to the car manufactures back in the 1970s (basically, cut their HP balls off) Then too live through the s-l-o-w return of HP in Mustangs, it was a shock to see the 03 Cobra come out with about 420ish HP (flywheel) and it put a lot of smiles on 'us' old timers. I'm sure I wasn't the ony one that stood next to a 03 Cobra in the dealer parking lot in the summer of 02 and said "I gotta get one of these!"

The straight sex appeal of the body lines. Seriously, I can't even look at a GT these days, I love that the Terminator is different in every way aside from the door skins. The power, the looks, the rarity, the blower whine, it all adds up. I drove my first Terminator (competition orange 04; pullied and bolt ons) when I was 17. After driving it I knew I had to have one.

I started with a gt and realized it would never be what i wanted. I won best car with that in high school and have a picture in the yearbook. I started looking at mach 1's cause my mom's co-worker who i used to go to atco raceway with had one. I started searching and then i realized how much better all around the cobra was. With that said, until i bought mine i had only seen a few ever, there really rare around my specific area. Just like the guy i bought mine from said and he wasn't lying. Whenever i come home from anywhere and turn in my driveway, my heart just starts racing. I really can find myself just staring at the car say after i wash or detail it. I don't know how lucky i am. I have the privilege of owning one of the most badass muscle cars ever.

I owned a T-Bird SC (Stupid Coupe) and mostly loved the whole 5 speed Supercharged experience. The day I read about the Supercharged Cobra I knew I would own one. It is the whole visceral experience of my 625 RWHP insane street car that made me write the check.

When I was younger in the summer time me and a few of my friends used to ride our bikes out to checkers on rt 37 and catch all the cars and A few races if we were lucky going to and from seaside. One night I (heard first) and then saw a silver kb cobra going wot and the sound alone made me say "I gotta have that"

i agree with all of the above. I actually wanted nothing to do with a Ford. I have owned a lot of Chevy SUVs and Pick-Ups. But i actually love this car. Have had people offer to buy it on multiple occasions and its not for sale. Only reason that i would get rid of it would be to get a LOW mileage Terminator. So best of luck, and just save yourself the trouble and buy one. Lucky Hunting
