It looks like Ford has figured out that if you really want a Modular ford engine to perform, you add compression, displacment and cams. The 2011 5.0 Ford 4 valve V8 has 11:1 compression, and variable valve timing.

Us new edge Cobra guys will need 11:1 pistons, and aftermarket cams just to keep up with the 400+ HP 2011 mustangs.
Check it out: factory short tube headers for the DOHC V8.

Realistically, what would it take, and how much money, to get this thing in our cars, or at least most of it.

I'd consider a 5.0 as a replacement if/when my stock s/c 4.6 gets a unwanted block inspection window. I think it would be a lot of fun with a few mods and stay n/a.

Given the new variable timing you'd probably have to figure out how to get the new computer and harness into the car.

I'll just get a smaller pulley and be done with it.

I guess building my cobra is still less expensive  I'm sure it will be a beautiful stang.

Gotta look at the weight of that '11 though.. it's heavy.. Just build your car with a blower and you'll be good.

it will definitely be time to start looking at new upgrades. Some gears are still first on my list, but boost will be something to save for. Maybe a nice nitrous kit to tie me over during the saving process. lol.
