Because a RWD 4 cylinder in a truck body will have lots of access room to the sides of the engine etc. And you have one head, one turbo etc.
Rumor is that one is coming in late 2021/early 2022. I'm down to an Equinox fleet vehicle these days and greatly miss having something fun to drive on weekends. The 3.0TT special edition model will be perfect for Colorado.
LOL If they did make a V8 two door version, I might have been interested. I don't hate it, I think it looks good with great tech. It would have been a great replacement for my daily driver when needed. ****And I agree with the person that said the aftermarket for these things will be wild!

my guess is durability. the 2.7 is built like a powerstroke, the 3.0 has an aluminum block (not CGI), and the tried and true 2.7 makes torque early on in the rpms.
