I recently purchased the strange drag brakes before my next track visit, I've read that you lose close to or a little over 70lbs going from the brembos.

Brembo rotor in the back and the strange in the front

After taking the brakes off you have to cut the stock mounting points for the calipers.

After that you drill out 2 of the dust cover bolt holes with a 5/16 drill bit and tap them with a 3/8-16 tap.

After that mounted the brackets put the rotors and calipers on, and bled them and was done. All in all it was really easy. I went a 10.16@135 and I hope with this weight reduction and a couple others will get me enough to get into the 9's lol

I'll say it before someone else does. Yes, on the lower one on the passenger side it looks like he cut off too much, I promise you, it's just the angle, its fine. I'm calling 9.97@137 when we go on Saturday Dil. Can't wait, glad I could help!

I imagine they would wear out somewhat quicker because they're smaller and still stopping the same weight. I'm sure it would also increase the 60-0 stopping distance. The instructions say "for drag use only". Lol. But then again every SCT tuner says "for off-road use only". Haha

Looks good! That is what you will find on all of our drag cars front & rear.

Nice! So, you didnt weigh them?

Also, I will tell you from experience....driving a 3500+lb car on the street with non-vented rotors is no bueno. As long as it's not in traffic, and stop and go....you're fine, though.

Keep us updated.

Looks good, I have no experience with drag brakes but how would those hold up on the street?

You can drive them on the street but for a daily or car getting stuck in traffic, no way would i recommend it.

These are designed for track use only

Oh ok. Not that it's a daily, because it's not, but what would happen if it did get stuck in traffic? Warp the rotors? Premature wear? Hot spots on the rotors? All of the above?

car would stop too fast causing driver to hit face on steering wheel. possibly cause the dude that's riding your ass to rear end you. :kaboom:

on a serious note i did see on this forum once that a dude used these brakes on his daily and ended up cracking the rotor and it jacked his shit up. i think it was on this forum. searched and couldnt find jack crap.

I lost about 50-55lbs swapping to these on my gt500. Strange sells two different pads as well, I went with the softer pads the second time around. Problem with driving with them on the street is the pads drag a little and the rotors will get extremely hot and swell even more and you will lose most of your stopping power. IMO for street/strip cars I would just do 05-09 v6 front brakes and still get to use 15'' skinnys.
