The brown santa came today. This is my DSS Carbon Fiber driveshaft I ordered about 4 weeks ago.

I was holding off on installing the RXT/Flywheel until this came in.

All I am waiting on is my McCleod Clutch line which shipped yesterday. Then it's time for install.

Right now I am on pace for a late August purchase of the VMP Stage 3 kit. I have to wait since I am doing a cash only build. I would assume I can button this up by mid September after I return from a short vacation. Then it will be getting close to drag race weather.

Nice job on the rear!

I just did the same thing... I don't know why Ford couldn't paint the rear end! It was bugging me to see a rusty housing every time I was under the car :/

What all did you do to prep your rear end for paint?

I took a wire brush attachment for air tools and went to town. Then I used a rust reformer rustoleum spray and the a final enamel based spray paint.

I am sure there are a number of ways to do it. Interested to hear what Scott did as well.

Got some stuff installed this week. I am a DIY guy but decided to have my local mustang shop install the clutch and flywheel . Mainly because its 110 degrees out until October and I need to break the clutch in before the VMP kit is ordered next month. Now because the shop installed everything I do not have any pics of the progress but I did get the rear picture I forgot before and the CF DS.

I can say so far the RXT is presenting the same characteristics everyone else has already mentioned before. Lighter than stock clutch pedal which was weird at first. Slight chatter from 1-2k RPM. When I say slight I mean I almost can't hear it when the a/c is on full blast and the music turned off. Engagement in 1st gear and each shift after seems pretty smooth for such an aggressive clutch.

McCleod RXT Clutch
McCleod Lightened Steel Flywheel
McCleod Braided Clutch Line
DSS Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft

Used ARP Flywheel bolts, new Ford slave cylinder and pilot bearing.

I pretty much did the same... Put it up on saw horses and took a wire wheel chucked up in a drill to it.
I was in a hurry to get it back in, otherwise I would have sand blasted it & had it powder coated.

Well the CEL came on after having the clutch/flywheel installed friday. Codes are reading random misfires. I guess I'll have to go down to the ford dealer for that crank relearn everyone is always talking about after clutch installs...

Well I got back from vacation yesterday and was planning to install my OPG and VMP kit this Saturday. I couldn't help myself though so I already started a few steps on my own today after work.

Returned the tune to stock on my x3 since the new kit has the better x4.
Ran the fuel out and started tearing off all the hoses and stuff. Going to pull the bumper off tomorrow after work. I should be able to knock out a good chunk of the process before Saturday.

Got some more done tonight.

Pulled the bumper.
Drained Oil.
Drained Coolant.
Removed degas bottle and all coolant lines.
Removed Thermostat.
Removed TB.
Removed Fan.
Removed valve covers.
Removed entire upper manifold with fuel lines.
Removed water pump pulley.

Just need to pull crank pulley and alternator and I am ready to pull off the timing cover and go to town on the OPG install.

Well thanks to several people I was able to get a lot done today. Thanks Kevin (zonastang) for bringing over some of the tools needed to make this install go a bit easier.
I only had a few iphone pics to show right now but Kevin brought over the DSLR and will have some good pics of the install today.

I completed the install of the MMR oil pump gears and reassembly of the timing cover after trimming off the vehicle.
I was able to reinstall all the pulleys and intercooler and head unit with the id1000's.

The OPG were quite a lot of work so I did not get as far as I thought today but I should be able to get a lot more done Sunday.

Great progress. I had a feeling the OPG were going to take awhile. I am thinking of doing them in December. I can stop buy tomorrow after the football game. Looks like next up is the intercooler.

Here are some of the OPG install pictures.

I am glad I could help out and come over. I learned quite a bit I wish I would have done the OPG when I did my VMP install. Now I have to take all that crap out again.

Today's pictures the Nikon battery died so I took these with the sony xperia z3 compact phone. All that is left is the electrical work at the connector the bap and fluids.
Of course a quick sanity check over everything to be safe.
Your gonna love it.
