I agree it's an interesting bit of history. I did not know GM bought them and then shut them down.
Did that to my 04 about 7 years ago. PITAOut with the old and in with the new…160k the strut, upper ball joint and sway bar end links were wore the **** out
Didn’t they make a movie about Tucker?IIRC, this somewhat financially irresponsible chap, with one of the most innovative automobiles ever produced, was shutdown by GM, Ford, & Chrysler as well.

Tucker innovations:
- sleek shape
- third, centered headlight, which swiveled to light the way around corners.
- fenders that pivoted defensively when the car turned.
- disc brakes.
- pop-out windshield (designed to eject during a crash, protecting passengers).
- a rear engine.
- padded dashboard.
Tucker was kinda like the "Carroll Shelby of production cars".
Had the good fortune to actually see one in person. They are truly magnificent.
Yup, with Jeff Bridges.Didn’t they make a movie about Tucker?
They don't come out often,..................& then....IIRC, this somewhat financially irresponsible chap, with one of the most innovative automobiles ever produced, was shutdown by GM, Ford, & Chrysler as well.

Lemay car collection by Spanaway. I really wish I was born in the late 30s. The innovation at the time and being able to try new things and new designs. Now EVERYTHING is governed to conform.
Sweet ride! Wonder if it’s a real Tucker? If it is he devalued it by modding. I have always said, your car, do what you want with it but modding a Tucker is not the smartest thing to do
I saw one years ago at a car show, probably decades ago but did not appreciate what I was looking atHere's the Tucker I saw in Madison, WI at the start of the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour.

These old structures are fascinating to me. I struggle to brush my teeth in the morning so something of this magnitude with the technology of the time just baffles me. She gets so pissed when I watch documentaries about castles and such.
A simple trade for goods & services would solve the problem.
