So what I’m seeing for straight line is Demon >ZL1 > Hellcat > GT500. I hope this is not true though i liked my old GT500 but if it is the case looks like the 2013-14 GT500 will be everyone’s best bet

I was in Ohio for the 50th CJ Anniversary, there was a 2018CJ. It had a 5.2L S/C motor - the guy from Ford laughed and "no commented" me when I asked him if this was the engine going in the 2019 GT500. Not a flat-plane crank motor, but too much bespoke casting work for a 50-unit production run in my view....

So FORD lightens up the heavy duty and regular pick ups and adds weight to the GT 500, that is supposed to be the Demon killer? I sure hope this isn't true. If so, I'll be keeping my BOSS.

I’m a little out of the loop regarding intro and release date. Does anyone have a firm understanding of when? I lost interest a while ago and was wondering if there is anything definitive on date yet.

It will definitely be a hellcat and ZL1 killer if they put a DCT in it. I saw on reddit that Ford is using a 7 speed DCT for the GT500, same transmission supposedly going into the C8 vette.

Great show to see the CJ reunion. Unfortunately that Whipple CJ motor is not making the production GT500 motor but I do hope someone at Ford remembers that the Terminator was legendary partly due to its bulletproof bottom end and that 5.2 CJ longblock is worth the added cost!
How many GT500 owners would pay and extra $500-1000 as part of the performance pack for billet OPGs and real rods like the CJ 5.2?

That '18 Cobra Jet is ugly. I saw an '18 Mustang GT on the road for the first time the other day. It's ugly, too. The S550 is just one ugly car. Hard to believe the GT350s and eventual [maybe] GT500 come from the same stock.

I would, it's not even a question. I'd pay $2K more.

I'd get that adder before a glass roof.

Well the CJ has been the showcase of what Ford racing offers as crate motors, not necessarily much to do with up and coming factory cars although it sure looks like it will be a sc 5.2.

I agree. The S550 just isn’t appealing at all to me. The GT350 looks good because it has a few different styling cues, but I think I’m gonna skip out on getting an S550 car

I hear ya. If it wasn't for the GT350, ain't no way in hell I'd have bought an S550! I would've first bought a Camaro.
