I've seen this happen at our local track. They have racing nights for any Tom, Dick or Jane who wants to come race in hopes of reducing street racing. The issue is that they just assume everyone has been on a track before. Take their money, do a lax vehicle inspection and let them loose. These n00bs have no idea when the track ends so they keep it pinned way too long.

Not everyone was born with common sense unfortunately.
