799 would be brilliant. FWIW I heard it was going to be high 700s or over 800 and that Ford would target Demon and Redeye with the power number. I won't post publicly who said it but I'll say I take it with an entire shaker of salt. They don't need to be higher but it would be hilarious if they did.

I’m guessing 760hp.

Power dense means hp/l in my opinion.

Zr1 is 755hp 6.2L+2.65L so 93.0hp/L

Demon is 840hp, 6.2+2.7L so 94.4hp\L

I think 760hp. 738hp would mean 94.0hp/L

So by that, 750hp or 760 or 780 or 790 but knowing the alleged insider banter leaks say 740 was hard I’m guessing 750. Gut hunch is 760hp though.

I’ll say 760hp for 2 reasons.
1. Beat Chevy on paper
2. The speedo on the gt press image showed 4 55 and the car ended up at 460hp. The gt500 showed 7 55 so 760 could make sense.

Would be really funny if it’s 799hp. I’d give them props for the troll roll

With the release of puzzle piece #4, Ford has said this engine is "the most power-dense supercharged production V8 engine" in the world.

I hope they are not going all ricer here with that statement, bragging about engine specific output is what ricers do when they talk about how much power they are making with their tiny displacement engines per litre (cid). Integra Type R, K20/K24 swap guys yap about that all the time.

BTW, I think that last # is a 0, so now the world waits to see what the magic middle # is, seeing that little slight curve in that 1 puzzle piece I'm with others and say it'll be a 6...…………..so 760 is my guess.

That would be a nice jump from the 720 shown in that "suppose'ed leak" document on youtube couple months back, good on the engineers to get it up there if it is THE NUMBER!!

Id wager some money you are wrong, but also like i said, 500 and 19 zr1 are not in the same technical class nor financially equally comparable.

Im sure once i get my 500 i can call up fran at RPM and have him find me a stock zr1 to put head to head immediately

So a ZR1 and GT500 are not in the same technical class or financially equal...……………….so what??? You're driving either car and someone driving the other pulls up and wants to tangle and what??? You're not playing because the other car is more advanced and/or costs more???? REALLY?????

They are both SC V8's, RWD, over 700++ hp...………...let the fun begin and the better car/driver have at it!!!!!

I'm game to a friendly wager. We have test results from Car & Driver on how a ZR1 performs, and once the Shelby is available for them to run it through their battery of tests we'll see if the performance #'s beat what the ZR1 has put down.

4 things are for sure, the Shelby will not have the power/weight ratio, weight distribution, Aero and top speed of the Vette.

Im down, and I agree, all that matters is when 2 owners meetup and do what is expected.

but their in lies my issue with what your saying. Im saying leave the shitty magazine reviews out of it, let real owners do the work. for roadcourse, sure, a pro driver, preferably the same, ill take that, but as for 1/4 mile or mexico highway runs, it needs to be 2 people that want to win
