I brought my car in for the trans fluid TSB. It came out with a messed up clutch. They tightened up the pressure plate bolts and replaced the clutch pedal unit with an upgraded piece. I am still having issues with the shifting being difficult under spirited driving and the pedal is sticking to the floor at high RPM. Its so bad that if I hold the pedal a few inches off the floor and rev the car up the pedal sucks itself onto the floor.

I have an aftermarket clutch waiting to go in, but I am really starting to think better of messing around with it since the trans may also be the culprit and the dealer will somehow blame the new clutch.

There is a legitimate problem here and I am glad it is coming to light.

There are so many reports of Ford voiding warranties over this that I would highly recommend waiting to see how this all pans out.

What we DO know is that the 2012 has a different clutch assembly which is NOT backwards compatible according to Ford. However, there are a number of 2012 owners indicating their pedals getting stuck.. including Boss 302. That's a new issue

Owners completely unaware of the NHTSA and this forum are now posting all over the place... leading me to believe this is much bigger than even I THOUGHT it was...

Here's a guy on Edmunds:

Oh my GOD, you guys just don't understand how happy I am to finally see the feds are looking into this. My '11 GT has been a scary beast since I bought it in August of '10. While merging into traffic at freeway speeds sometimes 75 or 80 mph, the transmission locks me out of gear and it seems my rear tires lock causing the car to loose traction and fish tail. You can imagine how puckered my ass gets when this occurs. Event has happened about 4 times since new and is completely random.

Dealership refuses to diagnose the issue because of the dangerous conditions it takes to recreate the event (75 or 80 mph) on the freeway.....not to mention what happens when the event does occur (fishtailing). However I completely understand their position. The technician is put in danger as well as other drivers and the dealership can potentially be held liable.

My first call to Ford regarding the issue was in October of '10 and here it is August of '11 and Ford is still not playing ball. In the meantime im stuck with a potentially dangerous vehicle and no where to turn. I called ford again today and was basically told "You're still *&^% out of luck". Can you hear the bellowing echo of FRUSTRATION.

Looks like you are too... Sorry you don't like the fact that the public is now aware of Ford's lack of action and poor customer service. But, you're shooting the messengers pal.

You're troll... even here... it's ridiculous:

There is definitely some fishy stuff going on. We discovered Ford Customer Care voting in a transmission problem thread at AllFordMustangs.com. Of course, they voted "2012 Mustang - No Transmission Problems".

They claim somebody "hacked their account". Right... just to vote in that one poll?

So the moderater who sent me this and told me to stop fighting with u, he is a troll too? Not sure? I know your not telling the truth.

This is the message:

Matero is a complete tool. The guy lives on the internet 24/7 and trashes the Mustang every chance he gets. He is not worth reasoning with, because he is a hard headed idiot and does not make any sense 99.9% percent of the time. He must make 1000 posts across all the auto forums every day. I'm suprised this guy has a real job, since he bashes Ford and the Stang 24/7 365 unless that is his real job, LOL. He must not get any work done at work since he is trolling every single forum waiting to pounce on anything positive that is ever written about the Mustang. I personally think the guy needs some mental counseling, and he seems to be on the edge of being psychotic. I also believe he has multiple forum IDs and frequently talks back and forth with himself, bashing folks that don't agree with him or just agreeing with himself multple times to support whatever idiotic point he is trying to get across. He is a very weird individual.

I have had people pushing down on the shifter trying to shift, not pushing the clutch all the way in, not understanding the skip shift, etc. i know some cars have issues, as all do. But i bet very few are fords fault.

he comes on here and says there is an issue with the transmission in these cars. Judging by the reports online and now on the national news I would say he is onto something.

you come on here and **** up this thread with your bullshit. If you don't have an issue or don't care that others do then move along and leave this thread to those who care to discuss it.

Ah... a fanboy. This makes sense now. You're in for one hell of a disappointment. We've got 60+ owners being contacted by the NHTSA to have their cars inspected... 2 are in Pennsylvania... maybe you should all hook up and you can tell them how they don't know how to drive because Ford couldn't have possibly built a car with a defective transmission.
