New toy maybe

I had an 03 L that I built but got rid of it about a year ago. I have regretted it since. Well today a family member called me from a police auction and they had picked up an 04 Cobra Vert and asked if I'd have a look. Car has 26k on the clock and is super clean. Only aftermarket mod I could find besides an optima red top was wiring for a stereo system and a cone filter. I drove it and all those old feelings came back of me in my L. I'm not big on the monochromatic paint but the convertible grew on me driving around top down. It could be mine for $21k but idk. Long story short, should I?

yeah why was it at the auction? If its a clean title thats a pretty good price. But just know they probably didnt pick it up for anything near that since it was an auction.

It was a police auction. All drug seizures so it's clean title and they gave $18.5 for it as it was open to public and several bidders. There is paperwork in the console where they paid $30k for it back in June. I also found two loaded magazines for a ruger .45 under the passenger seat lol. Cops found drugs in it but who knows what's still there.

21k for 26thousand milesd aint bad. As long as it's clean you could probably buy it and sell it for a little more and get what you really want if it wont totally make you happy.

I thought police auctions were supposed to sell things for super cheap. In this market $21,000 is around what the car would be worth. But by any mean, if you have the steam, I'd be all over that. Verts are sick :rockon:

Well got a 60 day loan and insurance today so if I don't sell it by the 60 day mark i'm keeping it. I detailed it up and pulled some power wire and rca's out so it had a stereo system at some point. I put it on a lift and stock exhaust is still there. Looks like a cone filter is all they did to it. Kid paid $31k in June at a dealer an hour from here and it was impounded in July. I have been driving it and the color is growing on me a bit. More than anything I enjoy the six speed and really missed that Eaton Scream! Well as I write this it seems I may not try too hard to sell it lol.

I'm glad you have realized that you don't want to sell it. I was gonna say, the more you drive it the more you wont want to part ways with it. But you came to your senses. More pics please! And enjoy!!

Think i'm going to keep it mild for now. I am looking at sub frame connectors, tires and exhaust right now. I plan on hitting suspension before the engine. I learned the hard way with the L that 550hp is no fun if you can't hook!
