hahaha what makes you say that? and i like the idea of the cobra banner cross the windshield. leme guess sync roes are bad? yea thats comin.

Hmmm....maybe because there's more interest in pictures of me than of my car :p lol

And yes, good guess, it's probably the sync is what my mech. was telling me. However, he said that the issue only happens some of the time (trouble shifting into 3rd) and so as long as I'm not racing the car then I can probably live with it for a while since it's not like I'm not capable of getting it into 3rd. It just sticks and sometimes is really tough. I'm really weighing my options because it's another $2000 to have them rebuild the tranny to fix the problem....

wow they want 2k to rebuild? side note, if you ever do decide to have them do that.. for just a few more you can get a brand new upgraded transmission, whether it be t45 or t56. by a few its really between 500 -1k more. but at least it would be brand new.. and better for your car.

I honestly think that the male renter that lives with me (I have a guy and a girl for clarification lol) knows how to fix it, but he's away on leave right now I won't be able to ask until he gets back. If that's the case I'll just have him do it. It's not like I'm voiding a warranty anymore.

Now, here's my first noob question - what tranny is in it now? And if I upgrade it, what else am I going to have to change out with it?

He used to be a mechanic which is why I'd trust him. however, any recommendations from anyone that knows a good specialist in the Colorado area would be sure appreciated.

Nice find, not to many 01 cobras under 30k miles I'm sure. You could upgrade the tranny to a t-56 6 speed you don't really need it though, you can get a replacement t45 for cheap. Also for a first mod to start with I would recommend Maximum Motorsports full length sub frame connectors. It really helps help to stiffen up the convertible chassis and will help keep the interior from squeaking latter on.

nice cobra and welcome. I got mine 2 years ago (this july) with right at 24k miles on the clock and unmolested. Waited one year before I bought any mods for it, so that I truly got to enjoy and appreciate it in factory form, and then I said let the mods begin!

your best bet would be to find a replacement stock t-45. if you plan on having the occasional fun with the beast, and no plans to go crazy with power.
