I come mainly from the LSx crowd as I've owned several LS Fbodies, a C5z and a C6 LS2. That said, I've also owned an 03 cobra (pullied, bolt ons) and a 13 5.0, stock.
Im looking to get something next spring, and have it narrowed down to a few. 07-09 GT500, 11-12 GT500 and C6Z.
One other thing, my wife and I recently had our first child, so... I'm kind of leaning away from the C6Z at this point in time due to zero back seat. I know that the other two don't have much of a back seat to speak of, but it's at least an option for a car seat with a wife who's only 5' 1".
I understand that from a performance standpoint, the C6Z is pretty far out ahead of the GT500's, heads/cam they don't seem to have much of a problem going low 10's at high 120's low 130's in the quarter. Thats kind of my goal. I won't be road racing, I'm more interested in fun and enjoyment cruising around town and the occasional trip to the dragstrip.
So, goals being low 10's at 130+, is that something that the GT500's are reasonably capable of, without extensive modification? If so, which would be the better platform to start from between the 07-09 and the 11-12? The nice thing about the 07-09 is that they are about $5,000 to $10,000 cheaper to start with and in my opinion they actually look a bit better...
