I see your point, but I also see his. I think that he is saying that the principle of it is what is messed up. If you look in the pictures it looks as if any day cars are getting stopped for it. Why should they have to be stopped?


I guess the only upside is that they don't (as of right now) seem to be targeting just the modded car scene.

Sorry to break the news to ya, but they HAVE done it in Socal numerous times.

Mostly in the inland empire area and surrounding areas but that was a while back.

It sucks that they do this but realistically speaking its not that hard to get past if you really think about it. I'm sure they have to have some type of warning up ahead, just like the notifications they post for DUI checkpoints and Red light cameras.

Also i'm assuming a good majority of the modified mustang owners in southern california don't daily drive there cars so they would probably not run into one of these with their mustangs. For example i only drive mine on the weekends or at nights and i doubt they would have these things running at those times.

But either way it looks like its time to put the Cats back on. Although it probably won't pass with them on.

In the last two years I have seen literally hundreds of Deputies laid off in my departement because the state and county have no money but there's funds for this! Way to go CA! Can they test people out of state for this? If not them im driving my car down there and bringing a shitload of leaded 110 gas with me and then im going to do circles around one of these places and crop dust the shit out of them. I remember getting pulled over here in WA with no mufflers, running strait 110, and he pulled me over for not having a front license plate, didn't say a word about the leaded fumes I was putting out of my illegal exhaust, haha.

as far as i know its completely voluntary and you can say no. This happened to someone on cafords.com in Vacaville by the outlets (Nut tree Outlets) when he was driving his truck with loud exhaust he said he didn't want to do it and the local PD pulled him over around the corner and sent him to the state ref anyways. Damn California Smog Nazis.

It's a shame, because California could be such an awesome place to live, if you got rid of all the bleeding heart liberals and environmentalist.

Sad to say but this has zero influence from our citizens. This is just another example of our ridiculous state government. In reality there aren't that many liberals and environmentalists here and everyone here on svtp really blows them out of proportion. That one posted code is for CHP not smog.But if CHP calls them then all bets are off.As for the poster stating he is going to drive his late model stang there and they can NOT touch him he is WRONG.You still have to meet fed regs for smog so if they do decide to check you and you do NOT meet fed regs guess what,your screwed!!Even if the state you reside in does not have emission testing you are still held by fed law to meet the regs for the model year or engine year to those regs.As for older cars i think there is some point where the motor year takes effect.IE 03 cobra motor in an 69 stang meet 03regs.But not a 67 motor in an 03 cobra still meet 03 regs.The one way around the test is to use alternate fuel ie E85.[alternitive fuel vehicle]STan

CHP is present at these roadside smog stations and enforces cars to actually stop from what I have heard.

If you claim that you do not want to participate, it's an automatic trip to the state referee
