Looking for some input on a trade im thinking about

hey guys i have a 2004 mysticrome cobra. im thinking hard about getting back into bracket racing and i dont want to beat on this car like that. i have a guy wanting to trade me straight up for my cobra for his fully built jdm lightning the truck runs 10.50 and is done right.the guy has over 60 grand in the lightning.my car has a 2.6 kb, true forged wheels it put down 585 on pump gas and 650 on race gas. my car was also in augest 5.0 magizine this year. just want to see what you guys think about the swap if yall think it would be far or should i just sell the car out right.

That is one badass lightning, and it looks like everything it has done to it is done right. If that's what your looking for I don't see why not. He's asking $22.500, I'm not sure the specs or mileage on your cobra but it seems like you have a nice set of wheels on there, maybe the cobra is worth a tiny bit more. But either way, that is one badass lightning :rockon:

yeah the truck is bad ass. i posted the ad from when i bought my car. the only thing different on my car is the motor. after have the car 3 weeks it leaned out and burnt up some pistons the tune that was in it was way lean. now it has diamond pistons and all arp hardware through it and has about 800 miles on the motor and i have had it retuned with a resafe tune in it.

i have had some foxbody's in the past and would love to go that route. i just wish i could afford to keep the cobra and build another car. i would consider trading my cobra for a fox and some cash but it would have to be fast and clean

OP try multi-quoting, it's much easier. I don't think a SRA would hurt a cars value too much, it's the preference of the person buying it. IMO i wouldn't buy a cobra with a SRA, I love the IRS.

I don't think it would hurt the value at all. If I were looking for another Cobra, one with a SRA swap would be a positive in my book.

im thinking about maybe looking for someone with a sra set up and maybe trade them. i might even go auto with the car then i would be very consistant. but yall are right they are made to run. the car has ran 11.30 at 128 just rolling out the hole get it to actually leave it would be nasty.

ive got a SRA swap in my car, with full aftermarket suspension.. fixing to add a torque arm to be complete.. but i could care less if it hurts the value of my car!! my car had wheel hop bad.. i think its stupid to make good power and not be able to use it, because of the wheel hop and the thought of breaking half shafts.. my car handles amazing and rides smooth.. plus i dont worry about wheel hop when i wanna do some spirited driving! just my .02..

i know what you mean. i tried to leave hard on it last friday at the track and it twisted the halfshalf in two. the new one came in today so ill fix it and start looking to see if i can find someone wanting to swap. not sure what the chances of that is. mine has the irs brace,373 gears in it already

If u wanna sell it just do that...i dont think it would hurt the value ,just depends on what new buyer is looking for. In the end its your car ,do what u want with it. if that mean beating the dog piss out of it,so be it. U have over 600 rwhp y not use it a little bit?

I'm still using the T-56 but I'd really like to make the switch to a 4R.... Lentec builds a great trans as well as some others (BCAutomotive). There very reliable when built right and can take a lot of power.
