no you do not. this is my 88 fox that is very low in the back and still runs 3" tail pipes and a 315 tire. no rubbing. very tight fit but doable

Are you running a solid axle or IRS? If solid what are the wheel specs?
sold axle, fox length 5 lug axles, wheels have a 23.8mm offset
