Your probably right. The ZR1 with more restrictive flowing heads is at 10.5 psi and the GT500 with superior flowing heads is at 14 psi.

Sounds like a poor engineering problem on a 130k car and u are bragging about it? :bored:

I don't think it's a engineering problem at all. It's more like they could have made more power if they wanted/needed too but there was no point since it had a awesome poweband, gearing, and aero compared to a boxy GT500. No I'm not a GT500 hater either cause I like them a lot. Anyways back to the awesomeness that is the Koenigsegg.

Off topic but still curious .....does the jag XKR-S us the same coyote 5.0? The XKRS is supercharged so I know its not the same engine code but is it a variant of the coyote motor or is it completely different ?

Anybody?

Petty Americans.....LOL

How the **** does a koenigsegg motor discussion turn into an LS? motors vs MOD motors?

Damn it guys, get it together and move on, MOD motors lost the war to LS motors, thanks to small displacement.

Modular engine has gone 6.08 and over 240mph in the quarter mile.

Your probably right. The ZR1 with more restrictive flowing heads is at 10.5 psi and the GT500 with superior flowing heads is at 14 psi.

It's actually the complete opposite. Both the GT500 and ZR1 have 2.3L TVS blowers with nearly identical pulley sizes, (recommended from the mfg for a factory car).

When are people going to stop relating boost shown on a gauge to the mechanical capability of a power adder? Take the exact same combo, put it on a Viper and it will show 6psi on the gauge.

Let's say for argument's sake a 2.3L hits it's peak efficiency at 24psi on a 5.8L MOD motor, do people honestly believe it will show that boost in a Viper with the same exact application before it hits peak efficiency? A Viper will likely reach the maximum mechanical capability of a 2.3L TVS at 13psi. Would you argue, "well what if the Viper had 24psi!"?

Boost is only a measure of restriction. LSX motors show a lot less restriction than MOD motors, they create a fatter powerband and are capable of making more power on pump gas, (like most large displacement pushrod motors).

The power delivery and architecture doesn't support the flow of a pushrod in MOD motors, (out of the box), but it has it's own set of advantages.

At the end of the day, these motors are very close to each other. In original outlaw 10.5 racing with restrictions that handicap all cars the same, (88mm turbo, front factory suspension, stock displacement motor, tire restrictions, fuel restrictions, one power adder and XXXXlb min curb weight)

The 4.6L MOD motor reigns king, but only by a couple tenths from the 5.7L LSX platform that's been chasing the record for awhile.

Lol this thread is an abortion. LS lovers clearly getting offended by he success of a boosted mod motor in a super car. I mean, my God, ONLY LS' can be impressive! Scoff!

You know what all of you are morons! The Ford Enthusiasts on here are so stupid that they don't understand Christian Von Koenigsegg stole Ford patented Ford's Mod Motor V8 engine design and has been lying about it for 20 years. And should be extremely angry. But no you idiots are applauding Koenigsegg and saying oh that's so awesome that's so cool you guys are retarded and ignorant of everything having to do with Ford Motor Company. Get a clue he stole the Ford Mod Motor patented engine design, and has been lying about it for 20 years get your heads out of your asses! And who cares what any GM idiot is going to say GM's engine technology is 30 years behind Ford's that's a fact that cannot be disputed by anybody in the world. The number one authority figure in the world on V8 domestic engines, and blocks specifically is Rick Maskin CEO and found of Dart Machinery LTD was quoted in Chevy high performance. com "The LS is the most pathetic engine I've ever worked on"! then in a thousand words went into extreme detail explaining everything wrong with the LS engine. It's in two Chevy high performance.com articles online and in magazines the title of the article was aftermarket LS blocks. Look it up morons. John Mihovetz of ACCUFAB RACING has been doing research and development for Ford for 25 years on the Mod Motor, and is now making over 3500 HP running 5.88 @ 255 mph in his 2008 Ford Mustang Pro Mod using a cast aluminum OEM cylinder heads, and 4.6L OEM production Teksid block which is 100% Ford Motor Company engine design, and architecture and was casted at the foundry in Italy while Ford was building a foundry in the US in the meantime it has to do with it's strength, and efficiency. He gotten into the 5's in NHRA competition 5 years ago but not a single GM LS powered anything has ever run a 5 in NHRA competition LOL. He also holds the record as the quickest and fastest NHRA Comp Eliminator car in history. He's only one of many engine builders around the country that build Ford Mod motors that make anywhere from 2 to 3000 HP reliably using a stock OEM production aluminum blocks and cylinder heads.

Only a moron would reply to a 5 year old thread.
