Just got a Terminator, and 68 Miles later it's broke.

doesn't sound like a lemon just yet, seems like anything modded always fights you for awhile then it eventually gives in, hope its something small and be prepared for the worst

That's the sound of a $1,500 transmission rebuild. LOL

Lemon is relative. It's a 600whp modified 13 year old Mustang. Shits broke, surprise surprise.

Pulled the transmission.

TOB is toast. Bunch of play in the input shaft.

Dumped the fluid I just added, no metal at all.

Hmm.

Nice car just sold my 10th Anni. black coupe miss it:(
If possible get the factory radiator repaired its a better piece due to its 1.5" core the after market radiators have 2" cores that are too thick and don't allow the airflow needed for additional cooling, and the mounting brackets Iv heard can be a pain

Huh?

Factory radiator is same as a Mustang GT of the era. 2" radiator too thick? Air restriction is nil if radiator is designed well. You want lots of surface area and coolant crossflow for convection and conduction.

Transmission is getting packed up and sent out Friday to Texas Drivetrain Performance.

Also pulled one of the AM arms. Obliterated. Arms didn't even have 300 miles on them.

So I also ordered some BBK bushings. I had saw someone changed out their SVE arms bushings for MM ones. So, I assumed the SVE and AM arms are the same. I also then went on to assume the BBK bushings and MM would be near identical....

The BBK are much larger.

Picked up some Cobra R reps off Craigs list for $100. 17x9 with "Made in the USA" stamped on the back. I plan to throw on some cheap summer tires onto them. Keep the M/Ts from burning up to quickly.

Pretty rough, some rash and they've been painted a few times. I was looking for someone to soda blast them but after failing just started stripping them with a nylon wheel. I plan to clean up the rash with a flapper and paint them satin black.

After I got done playing with the transmission, packed it up and sent it out to get repaired. Sent it down to Jason at Texas Performance Transmission.

Last mini project -

Insanity to not run these cars without a wide band. Picked up a AEM UEGO. Mount is a Glowshift unit that was advertised for the Mustang. It didn't quite fit so I had to hit it with a heat gun and form it a bit. I also grabbed a few pillars at the salvage yard, so this isn't the stock Cobra one. Long term I may end up having the pillars and headliner done in suede.

Sanded it all down and hit it with some Duplicolor Charcoal Grey.

Gaskets, fancy.

I'll get this in ASAP.

But something odd was going on. When I give the car gas (light acceleration) it now wants to push to the left (driver). When I left off (accelerate or cruise) it also then tugs back and to HR right (passenger).

Otherwise the car drives straight and true.

Is this a drive line problem? It just started doing it today.

Just a heads up, when I got my car it was straight axle and 6 speed. My car did the exact same thing and it was very exagurated, like would practically change lanes. I pulled receipts on the recent rear end build and found it had a Detroit locker installed. I bought a brand new 31 FMS posi trac and installed it, with no other changes, the rear steer went away.

Your wrong. Cobra radiator is thicker and has metal ends. Come on now this is widely discussed on the forum.

This car is not a ringing endorsement for high-end whatsoever...that original buyer that backed out looks like the smartest guy on the planet.

You said you've contacted high-end with email and pics....what has been the response?

What I've come to understand about this car....

It had a loving and dedicated original owner who spent big bucks back in the early 2000's and did a lot of work the correct way.

It then had a previous owner that was complete ****ing idiot and did a bunch of stupid shit.

The wheels where plasti-dipped, windows and sun-strip had dark tinted, it lowered significantly, shit job "rolling" fenders and someone didn't know how to ****ing jack a car up.

All I can do now is fix the car and move forward.

I hope your tranny rebuild goes well. A friend had texas drivetrain do his t56 rebuild and while he got his transmission back and it seems to be working ok the customer service sucks. I know it took longer than expected to be fixed and when he would call he d have to leave a message and it would take days to a week to get a reply.

At one point I was starting to believe he got scammed.

We are working through some things in the background.

Ok, well that's good. Some contact is better than none I suppose.

One other thing I've read on svtp about high-end is it's been reported they will "swap" body panels off other cars in inventory. That would be absolutely disgusting if your car had "good" fenders when brought into inventory...then got swapped out with another terminators shaved part....
