How much vacuum are you pulling at idle with the cams? Not knowing anything about the specs, the L&M by pass is for pretty low engine vacuum for fairly radical cams with a lot of overlap and making less than 12" hg of idle vaccum. But I can see the by pass closing much slower by virtue of less spring tension on the actuator. Probably wouldn't hurt to see if the by pass valve is moving freely too. Carbon deposits and burnt oil can gum up the mechanism and cause the valve to have some amount of resistance.

I am running a similar setup less cam with a 2.4 with stock lower and it is I believe at the upper end of 91 octane. Throwing a 10% lower on could possible throw it out of the 91 octane range. I am not sure, hence my might be post. Best to call Bj at VMP to get the correct scoop on that.

I could see the cams bleeding off enough boost to where it's not an issue, but if he's seeing more than 16-17lbs. of boost now, it's probably not a good idea.

You've already got an outstanding list of mods. And you're making good power. I'd probably be very happy with the way it is. But that's just me. LOL. What's your ultimate goals for it?

Well, I’m going with a gen2r to push it to mid 700’s and will eventually build it to be able to push more.

Looks great.

What all did you change with the new dyno above? Just the Gen2r or what else in addition to the new blower versus the 692 power level?

Have you had it down the drag strip out there in Vegas? What does it run?

Just the head unit upgrade and a 72mm TB. The power curve is way prettier with this newer setup. Haven’t gone out yet, I’m still getting wheel spin and wheel hop even through the fatties. It’s just too cold unless I warm me up. Figure I’ll go in a month or two.
