I have 275s up front, so a 285 in the back wouldn't look right, would it? Also, isn't a 295 the smallest you should go with an 18X10 rim? Are they gonna make a 305/35/18 in the NT05R?

I don't think it will look bad by any means and the approved rim width range per Nitto for their 285/40-18 NT05R is 9.5" to 11" with10" being the most ideal.

Nitto will add additional sizes to the NT05R line but they haven't released any information regarding new sizes just yet.

Do they make the nt05r tires in 305 width for stock 03 17" rims? I want the 315s but I dont know if they will fit like the 555r tires can.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the smallest tire to fill out the 18X10 would be a 295. Nitto 555Rs run small, so they're 305 is about the size of BFG and Goodyear 295s and that tire looks perfect on a 10" rim. I'm thinking a 285 will be a little too narrow, but maybe the new Nitto NT05R 285 is the same size as BFG and Goodyear's 295?

You rock  Thank you for your support. Looking forward to your review! Just make sure to put a good heat cycle through the tires before really running them hard.

Do they make the nt05r tires in 305 width for stock 03 17" rims? I want the 315s but I dont know if they will fit like the 555r tires can.

The NT05R is currently available in two 17" sizes, 275/40-17 and 315/35-17.

The NT05R is just slightly wider when compared to the NT555R in the 315/35-17 size. NT05R section width - 12.48" NT555R section width- 12.13"

Like mentioned above, the NT05R is slightly larger than the NT555R. Here are the dimension breakdowns measured on a 10" wide wheel.

295/35-18 BFG T/A Drag Radial - Diameter-27.09" Section Width - 11.42"

285/40-18 Nitto NT05R - Diameter - 26.2" Section Width - 11.7"

What is a heat cycle?

Also, the Nitto 285 is .3 wider than the BFG 295? What's the diameter and section with for the 555R 305/35/18?

Here's the link with how we heat cycle competition tires before shipment.

Heat Cycling - Discount Tire Direct

If you will be doing a heat cycle from home, the best way is to take the tires to the track and do a nice burn out in the burn out box. Take one pass down the strip and if you can, take the tires off and let them cool for at least 24 hours. If you can't take them off at the track, drive them home and then take them off to cool. The idea behind this is to get the tires nice and sticky and then cool evenly. You can also jack the rear of the car up to let the tires cool as well. 48 hours of cooling is best.

have you heard anything about them maybe coming out with a 305/35-18 in these I think the 45 will be to tall and look odd.

Nitto hasn't released any detailed information on additional sizes but chances are they will buit the 305/35-18.

So far they seem good, and seem to hook real good. Layed down some nice rubber to do my heat cycle and they also ride smooth and seem like they will handle great. So far i am really liking these tires. Im headed to the track in march so ill get some times posted when I get em and let you know how they hook at the track.
