Do I need any software ?
Yes. You must first download the firmware for your Xcal 2 so the computer recognizes it.

Second you will need to download LiveLink software.

Both are free to download from SCT's website.

Then you will need to plug your XCal 2 into a laptop via a Printer Cable.

Then open Livelink with the car running and plugged into the laptop.

You will then need to configure what you want to datalog.

For intake temps you will need to datalog "Downstream Air Temp". Which is your IAT2 sensor.

Depends on what you are doing.

For a WOT pull I like to datalog:
1) RPM
2) Air Intake Temp (IAT1)
3) Downstream Air Temp (IAT2)
4) MAF AD Counts
5) Returnless Fuel Pump Duty Cycle (For returnless fuel sytems such as stock)
6) Injector Duty Cyle
7) Pressure Drop Across Injectors
8) Spark
9) LOAD
10) TP Absolute
11) Coolant Temp
12) Analog 1 (Input from wideband for Air Fuel)

This should give you a good start.

So the Xcal2 Can't datalog parameters from the unit itself like a Predator? It needs to be linked up with the Livelink software via laptop? Haven't datalogged with mine yet since I switched from Diablo..

In 3rd gear at wot 5500 rpm -downstream temp 148.00 , Load 1.4100586 return less fuel 0.705582. Spark 23.25 maf count 924.o. Volts 12.81 ? Any of this good ?

If it was tuned correctly, then elevation should not matter.

It can datalog a few items, but it is much better when using the laptop.

23.25 is a lot of timing for 5500 RPM's. This is most likely due to the load being too low and the tune reading from the wrong area's in the timing table.

Load should go to 2.00 at WOT.

Gotcha Kevin, yeah so it's similar to the Predator where it has limited memory space when logging just with the handheld!
And OP 12.8 Volts at WOT with no accessories on (AC.lights, radio etc..) is a bit on the low side, I like 13.5+
