HIDS look green in pictures

My HIDS look green in pictures. I was told by the previous owner that they are 6000k. They look good in person but in pictures they look green. Anyone know why this is?

Yeah they are blue in person. If you look at them just right you can kind of see a green hue to them but it definitely doesn't look like it does in the pictures when looking at them in person.

It's your camera trying (and failing) to balance out the headlights to sunlight.

I havent tried any night time pictures yet. I'll try that probably tomorrow.

The previous owner had some pictures that he took and the HIDs looked green in his pictures too.

Are you allowing them to warm up? I know mine have a green stage for 30 seconds while they are warming.

I had turned them on quick to take the picture but it should have been long enough to let them warm up. I'll try again with it warmed up alittle bit longer.

Yeah its probably due to both not being warmed up and a white balance problem. Try taking a pic with a more colorful background after they have warmed up. The camera should be able to figure it out that way

I like the OP's first photo. The greenish lights and silver paint create a nice effect in the photo.
