This is where I have to get upset with FCA. While they continue to put out some cool products and cater to their chosen audience, it feels hollow in many ways. A Demon is amazing, but $90k, a Redeye is cool and all, the Hellephant seems unreal.. and I've yet to see it listed for sale.... but... cars like the T/A, 1320 Spec, R/T and SCAT Pack all fall short. They fall short because while Ford and GM continue to beef up the internals of their engines, FCA has done NOTHING.
A Hemi 5.7, which is a damn good amount of displacement has a cast crank and guts made from harden wood chips. The 6.4 is impressive in stock form, but is basically maxed out. It's piston ring lands are to weak to realistically be boosted.
Then you have price, a nicely equipped SCAT Pak is in the 50's... and thats riding a 20 year old 4,000lb chassis, with an engine that is maxed out short of 500hp.
So yeah, really, anything short of a Hellcat, they are only good for a cruiser or commuter, and even though that's 90% of what I do, just knowing that, is very frustrating.
Not to mention to mod any FCA means you need an unlocked PCM.
That was one slight turnoff from the 6.4 for me. 5.0 you can boost to 8 seconds on the stock internals.
6.4 on 8lb of boost and you'll get a nice window in the block. lol
