Not bad…now do that without the LPVO :p
Yea.... that scope aint moving now lol. Maybe I will set up some offset irons but this is my deer upper so probably not. Also its alot easier to make the holes touch when they're .452 diameter compared to .223. Im pretty good with irons as well, this upper would push the front sight out far enough I dont think I would have an issue repeating this using the same front only rest. The long sight radius really makes a huge difference and I will never shoot a carbine radius again if I dont have to.

Got the range and zeroed in at 50 yards (yes the target was upside down), my groups are the ones touching, the flyers were already there from my FIL's Ruger 450 American. Weathers going to be crap tomorrow so I will only be able to go out on Sunday, second rifle season is only the 18th and 19th. Wish me luck!!!

Group 1: 2 shots, right below the 10 ring. POA, dead center.

Group 2: 4 shots, bottom right. POA, top of bullseye circle.

That's some impressive shooting.

And the target graphic on my MacBook Pro screen looks like it (the screen) has holes. LOL. Great photos.

My Trijicon HD XL sights are coming Wednesday, destined for my carry weapon....M&P 9mm Performance Center Shield. My existing fiber optic sights suck. So this will be a very welcome change. And my range gunsmith said he'd install them while I practiced with my HK VP9-SK. A small Christmas present to myself.

I'm going to drop off my S&W revolver at the same time, on consignment. Hoping for a fast sale.

Picked up a muzzle loader, the 3-9x40mm scope came with the rifle and Im not too sure how I feel about it. Will hopefully sight it in Saturday morning and head straight out to the deer plot, not optimal but thats the only time I am able to get it sighted for the season.

Traditions Pursuit VAPR XT: 50cal, 26" fluted 1:24 barrel, 5.75 pounds less scope.

Will be using Hornaday SST 250 grain bullet with 100 grains of Hogdon 777 50/50 pellet powder.

That smokepole will knock a deer ass over tincups out to 200yds dude

Also stick with 100grains of powder...all they do better with 150gr is kick harder.
Mine groups better with 100grs as well

Definitely do. Lined the red dot up by eye at home and went to the range. 15 yards out I was shooting 6 inches low but the first 10 shots out if it (Massachusetts mag) were in about a 1" group. Also picked up a HK 416 in .22lr just for plinking.

It was great to walk in to Academy and see 9mm ammo on the shelf again and not totally insane pricing. Def not pre-hysteria but not insane.
6 or 7 dif 9mm options as well as a LOT of other calibers.
How much did you pay per box of 50? What brand?

I actually didn't buy any. I have a box or 20 laying around & a family member that reloads so...

Hornady 20 rd box of security / defense rounds ranged from $19.xx to $29.xx.
There were name brand & off brand 50 rd boxes of 115gr FMJ 9mm. I typically shoot 124gr so don't remember $ on them.
3 or 4 types of 22
As good of a selection of calibers as I've seen on the shelf there in months

That's a fair price @ .34 a round. I just paid $17.99 for a box of 50 (.36 a round) for Federal American Eagle 115 grain. Nice to see prices gradually dropping. Hopefully this year we'll see this same 9mm ammo drop to near .20 a round (pre-Covid prices).

Ah, thanks. That's great that you have a family member who reloads. If I shot more, I'd look into reloading myself. A friend of mine used to have a great reloading station in his basement. He absolutely loved to load his own ammo and took great pride in it.

Got sighted in with 2 shots, 18 clicks later I was satisfied and we headed straight out. Again not optimal but we didnt want to waste any more time at the range, didnt see anything unfortunately. Scope tracked perfectly when I adjusted but I still cant stand the eyebox nor eye relief. Even with it pushed all the way back I still have to scoot forward on the stock to get a good sight picture, thinking of a replacement and am open to suggestions.

My Sentry Safe nightstand gun safe has had a worsening opener rod piston to the point where I enter the code and the cover/lid doesn't move. I am wasting precious time trying to flick it open with my fingernail every time I open it. I tried a heavier spring, to no avail. This is a common issue with these Sentry Safe gun safes. After checking out recommended nightstand gun safes, I went with a VAULTEK Essential Series Quick Access Handgun Safe. It will easily hold both my Shield 9mm and HK VP9SK 9mm, plus two magazines,, for for each pistol. I like that it has a different opening mechanism that opens quickly and firmly. It also has more interior space due to the opener design.
