Just ordered a S&W Shield Plus 9mm with red dot optic. I get a $50 rebate, too. This will replace my existing Shield 9mm that I've had for about 6 years. I've really wanted a red dot optic and this one also has a 10+1 magazine (max allowed in CT) whereas my existing Shield only has 8 round magazines. This will be my carry pistol.

That is awesome. The trigger on these is supposed to be awesome.

I’ve been getting an itch to swap out my G43 carry for a G43x. Guess it doesn’t hurt to pick one up and then decide which works best

That's one of the things that pushed me over the edge to buy it. The trigger on my older Shield is good, but this one is much improved. I've really wanted to use a red dot, and neither of my other 9mms are optics ready. This Shield is just under an inch longer than my current Shield, but it is still a good carry choice. It comes, according to Smith & Wesson, with a complete cleaning kit. The barrel is ported like the one I have.

Where did you order it from? I’m thinking about swapping from my shield 40 to a 9. The 40 is a little heavy.

I bought it through GunBroker.com. I've used them before. The gun store it's coming from is Carolina Caliber Co. in Winterville, NC. It will ship today or on Monday with 2-day shipping, so I hope to pick it up from my FFL by Thursday. Can't wait to take it to the range.

When you shoot suppressed in competition but never actually empty a mag. Who knows how long they have been at the bottom of that mag. Years probably. Anyway gonna send them, just not on the clock. I'll use a beater gun just in case.

I posted this info in the "what SVTP's carrying" thread and thought it might be helpful in this one for those who might buy an S&W Shield Plus 4.0" with a Crimson Trace red dot optic and are looking for an outside waistband leather holster.

I highly recommend the Urban Carry OWB LockLeather Holster, Size 208 (for the 4.0" barrel). It is cut for the RMR / RDS sight. I looked high and low for the right leather holster with the requirements that it had to be cut for the optic sight, OWB, smaller to hide better, and well made. I found this one, called customer support to confirm the size, and ordered it ($69.95) and about a week later it was delivered. The fit is perfect, comfortable, and overall better than I expected. My Shield Plus 4.0 fits perfectly snug while being easy to draw. I used a little Leather Honey which absorbed pretty quickly and I'm ready to use it.

Here are a few pics.

With Crimson Trace cover removed.

Congrats! Very good reputation can from an excellent company!

Any thoughts on changing the mount? Several great options on the market that can be improved upon the silencerco model. Dead air Kemo, xeno, Q cherry bomb. We’ll like a dozen companies that produce 1.375x24 mounting options.

Sweet! That is a fine weapon. The new trigger should be nice. Let us know how you like it once you get it installed.
